Hello, friends! Poppy here. Last week, I went to Holiday World with our Kitchen Manager, Miss Rebecca.

The smells were incredible! Funnel cakes, popcorn, burgers... honestly, I don't know why humans spend so much time riding rides when there is perfectly good food everywhere.

I also discovered that roller coasters are basically giant zoomies for people. Very strange behavior, but who am I to judge? I chase my tail sometimes.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to recover from all that sightseeing with my first nap of the day. Being everyone's favorite is hard work. 🐶

Ready… set… READ! ☀️📚

Our Summer Reading Challenge is June 1-July 31st, and we want EVERY student and staff member to join the fun! The challenge is simple: read each day and work toward our goal of 1,000 minutes by July 31, 2026. That’s only about 17 minutes a day!

Not reading independently yet? No problem! If someone reads TO you, those minutes count too. ❤️

Hello, friends! Poppy here. Today, my humans took me to the Blue Gate in Shipshewana, which I can only describe as an excellent place to sniff things.

Nestled in the heart of Northern Indiana’s Amish Country, Shipshewana is full of peaceful countryside, open skies, friendly people, and approximately 47 million fascinating smells. The humans seemed interested in the shopping and entertainment. Personally, I was focused on the important questions:

Has anyone dropped a snack?
Squirrel?!
Is it tummy rub time?
Squirrel?!

Between squirrel surveillance and leading my humans around town (where would they be without me?), I stayed very busy. Shipshewana gets four paws up and one enthusiastic tail wag.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need a nap. Being this adorable is exhausting.

🍎 Summer Meals Begin June 1! 🍎

Our kitchen staff is excited to offer summer meals again this year!

✅ FREE meals for children and teens ages 18 and under
💵 Meals available for purchase for ages 19+ (cash or check accepted)

Meal Schedule
🍳 Breakfast Pickup: Mondays, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM
🥪 Lunch Served: Daily, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM

IMPORTANT Pickup Requirement
Children must either:
• Be present at pickup, or
• Have a parent/guardian provide proof of relationship (birth certificate, insurance card, or other legal documentation)

Caregivers may pick up meals only for children who are currently in their care.

Three of our middle school students recently shared words of wisdom with our incoming 7th graders. Their thoughtfulness, humor, and encouragement are exactly what makes SCA so special.

More than anything, they genuinely care for one another. We've built a community where students are known, safe, supported, and encouraged to be exactly who they are.

And as they grow, they’re learning to stand tall in the crowd with confidence, kindness, intelligence, and character.
