Congratulations to our cast of The Laramie Project!

This documentary play explores the reactions of the residents of Laramie, Wyoming, to the brutal murder of a young gay man, Matthew Shepard. Directed by Lorrie Sparrow-Knapp, the play will be performed Nov. 12-14, in the John Legend Theater.

Springfield Civic Theatre will hold a gala celebration to mark 95 years of bringing quality theater to our community from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 8 in the Metropolis, 102 W. High St.
The event will include performances of musical numbers from past productions, delicious food catered by Charlo's, and a very limited number of speeches. The event is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
Springfield Civic Theatre began in 1931 when a professional actor spoke at a women’s club meeting suggesting that the Springfield community could benefit from producing local theater. Since then, Civic has been devoted to producing entertaining and thought-provoking dramas, comedies, and musicals that give an outlet to many talented and dedicated local folks. Join us on Oct. 8 to celebrate this great legacy!

Springfield Civic Theatre will present its Season Sampler for the 2026-27 season from 5:30-7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27 in the Clubhouse on the Masonic Home campus, 2655 W. National Rd., Springfield.
The directors of the season's shows will give brief presentations, and some songs/excerpts will be performed. We will share information about Civic Theatre and ways to be involved. Refreshments will be served. This event is free.
The shows for the 2026-27 season are "The Wiz," directed by Debbie Blunden-Diggs, Sept. 17-19; "The Laramie Project," directed by Lorrie Sparrow-Knapp, Nov. 12-14; "Under S for Sucker," an original play by Peggy Hanna directed by Rebecca Baker, March 4-6, 2027; and "Be More Chill," directed by Ryan Ramirez, May 13-15, 2027. All performances will be in the John Legend Theater.

Announcement: SCT Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 4th at 6:30PM at the Clark County Public Library, Main Branch in the Gaier Room, 201 S. Fountain Ave., Springfield, Ohio.
