💕Beautiful Baby girl came into this world this morning 💕

We have a wonderful host family who has stepped up and said YES to opening their home to a newborn baby. 🍼💖Now we need our community to help us make this hosting possible!

We are looking for someone who can provide daytime childcare four days a week, approximately 8:00 AM–2:00 PM, beginning September 16th.

Maybe you’re able to help, or maybe you know a trusted childcare provider, stay-at-home parent, retired caregiver, or someone else who may be willing to step in and support this family.

Safe Families Core Values define who we are as an organization and how we treat each other, the families we support, volunteers, and partners. When we put them into action they create our culture.

Radical Hospitality means welcome strangers into our homes and our lives to find hope, rest, and healing. We work to create space, maintain a welcoming stance and invite others to use their skills to serve others and grow the movement.

It’s Friday! ❤️

For some of us, our kids have officially completed their first week of school, and what a blessing that is. For others, the first day is still coming next week.

This morning, I’m thinking about all of our children and families. We pray over our kids as they walk into classrooms, meet new teachers, make new friends, and begin a new school year. But I’m also thinking about the families who may be walking through a harder season right now.

Some parents are struggling quietly. Some children may not have the stability we hope every child has when they leave school and go home. Some moms and dads simply need someone to encourage them, help connect them to resources, or remind them that they are not alone.

That’s where community matters. ❤️

Here in Springfield, we’ve had parents reach out who don’t necessarily need someone to host their children—they just need a Family Friend. Someone to walk alongside them. Someone who can make a phone call, meet for lunch or coffee, offer encouragement, share resources, pray with them, or simply listen.

You do not have to be a Host Family to make an impact.

Sometimes changing someone’s week or even their life can start with a conversation and a little consistency.

If God has placed serving families on your heart, there is no better time than now. Come be part of the Safe Families ministry and help remind a parent that they do not have to walk through a difficult season alone.

Social isolation shouldn't mean separation!

Parents want the best for their children, but sometimes they lack the financial resources and physical support of a reliable community to help in a crisis, leaving children vulnerable and families isolated.

Safe Families for Children is a family-focused support movement committed to serving parents by providing a caring, compassionate community to walk alongside them when they need it most.

As school bells ring in a new season, many families are stepping into a year filled with both excitement and uncertainty. While some children return with confidence and anticipation, others carry burdens that aren't visible in a backpack.

This month, we want to pause and honor the heart of our schools—our teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff. Every day, they pour into the lives of children with compassion, patience, wisdom, and encouragement. They faithfully invest in each student entrusted to their care, showing up day after day with consistency, intentionality, and a heart to help every child thrive.

They celebrate the little victories and the big milestones, notice silent struggles, create opportunities for positive childhood experiences (PCEs), and often become a steady source of hope and stability when it’s needed most. Their influence extends far beyond academics, helping shape character, build confidence, and reminding children that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and the lasting impact they make in the lives of students and families each day.

As this new school year begins, would you join us in praying for every student, every family, and every educator? May they be strengthened for the work ahead, encouraged in moments of challenge, and reminded that they are not alone. School is starting up this month around the country, and it is important that parents feel supported so children can thrive!

In partnership with local schools, Safe Families for Children (SFFC) focuses on building a support network with a local community church that has vetted, trained volunteers willing to serve families. This partnership intends to surround families with support from their community, which will help to:

1) Stabilize, strengthen + support parents
2) Minimize or eliminate harmful disruptions for a child at school
3) Enhance a child’s learning, development + growth
4) Reduce family stressors + isolation
