Grow Springfield Grow Springfield works to increase community gardening and urban agriculture in Springfield, IL

Grow Springfield is a network of organizations committed to increasing access to fresh, locally grown food throughout Springfield, Illinois and the surrounding area by linking individuals to community gardens, encouraging urban farming, and re-connecting individuals with the land, their heritage, and their communities.

Thinking about starting a fall garden? Now is the perfect time.
Join the University of Illinois Extension on Wednesday, July 29, at 5 p.m. for Getting Started with a Fall Vegetable Garden, a free program at the Sangamon County Department of Public Health Community Garden (2833 S. Grand Ave. E., Springfield).
Learn how to grow cool-season vegetables and take home a free packet of seeds to get started.
Community garden plots are still available for just $10 for the season. Call (217) 321-2601 to reserve your plot or learn more.
