The ladies from Horizon House of Illinois Valley stopped in today for some creative fun. They crafted bows and boquets and made some fun "tassle" ghosts, too! Being creative together is a great way to connect, share and learn! These ladies meet monthly for creative engagement and always have such a good time.

The Illinois Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra is here until noon today with their "instrument petting zoo".
Stop in and sample different instruments, learn more about the youth orchestra and enjoy a short musical performance! Free and open to the public.

What is an "instrument petting zoo?"

It's an opportunity for people to experience music in the closest way they can: coming from them!! Our event guests, especially children and teens, get to hold and even make a few sounds on the instruments. We are grateful for The Music Shoppe Inc. who are always our willing partners in these pop up events.

Our upcoming "Everystring but the Violin Party" on August 15th in Spring Valley is the next opportunity to put your hands on a string instrument! Come on out to the Spring Valley Community Event Center 10-12 on Saturday to hear—and play on—violas, cellos, and basses!

Horizon House visited today for another fun therapeutic art workshop! Today we experimented with stencils and created some beautiful butterflies! So great to connect, explore and create.
