We guarantee that many of you have more than one tape measure in your toolbox. Possibly more than a handful.

We know cos it was the one thing that our past tool drives yielded many of. Like many tools, it's easy to lose track of, yet inexpensive enough to replace. Until of course, the original turns up. Then, you have more than you need.

Which is why a SOMA Tool Share membership makes sense. Why buy when you can borrow? We always know where our tools are (so you don't need to fret about looking) and we hv many (so you don't need to keep buying).

Yes, you could gift them a customized door mat. Or pay for a pre-move clean. But why not a gift that lasts all year or several months long after they have closed?

A membership gives them access to essential tools they may need without rushing out to buy those one time use tools. Esp those first-time house owners. At min, they can use ours until they decide what works, even if they choose to invest in owning them after.

Do you have working tools sitting around that are not being used? Wouldn't it be nice to free up that space? Or maybe you know someone who's downsizing and no longer needs to hold on to the outsized collection of tools?

, we accept tool donations. So they can in turn be borrowed by our community members. Think of us as storage and facilitators of tool access. Becos calling Uncle Bob or next door Nate for that drill he borrowed last year could be awkward. So let us do the work.

Did you know that in the last six months, has hosted four workshops, with many more that will be percolated to you in the coming months?

These workshops require thought and planning, all of which is a team effort but today, we highlight , workshop planner extraordinaire. Beth facilitates the workshop calendar, tees up our instructors and pushes for sign ups. Moreover, together w the team, she is always ideating about workshop content for you.

Often, little projects are what we keep putting off or convince ourselves we can't start. Becos we don't have the one or two everyday tools needed to start them.

Have you checked out the inventory? Our library has more than 1,300 tools available for loan plus we are continiously adding requested items.

We all have tools we're not proud of in our toolbox. But for the occasional use, it could feel a little extravagant to buy all new ones.
