New Year. Better Fit. Stronger Foundations.

Every January, many of us quietly do the same thing:
We clean out the drawer.
We let go of what’s stretched, faded, and no longer supportive.

Yes ... even THAT drawer.

It turns out this small ritual is a fitting metaphor for leadership in 2026.

For years, women have led while carrying outdated expectations:
over-apologizing, pushing through exhaustion, adapting quietly through health transitions, and managing invisible work no one sees — or rewards.

Starting fresh doesn’t mean reinventing yourself.
It means upgrading your foundations.

In 2026, two realities are shaping women’s leadership more than ever:

🧠 AI as a Leadership Lever
Not to replace judgment — but to reduce burnout, reclaim time, and support clearer, more confident decision-making. Used intentionally, AI becomes quiet infrastructure that lets leaders operate at a higher altitude.

🌿 Health Milestones as Strategy, Not Silence
Menopause, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, hormonal shifts. These aren’t “side issues.” They ARE leadership realities. Naming them allows women to design careers with longevity, flexibility, and strength — without stepping back or opting out.

And 🙌 — even the science agrees that holding onto what no longer serves us (including worn-out underwear) isn’t great for long-term health. Chronic irritation and neglect, in any form, eventually catch up. Leadership is no different.

If we don’t support our health first, it becomes harder to lead well — in career, in community, and in life.

2026 is about alignment, not endurance.
Support is not weakness. It’s strategy.

At Cospire @ Lake Tahoe, we’ll be diving deeper this year into conversations around AI, women’s health, modern leadership foundations, and what it truly means to lead sustainably - TOGETHER!

If this resonates, stay close.
The conversation is just getting started!

Cospire is proud to share a milestone moment for our organization and our founder, Andrea Drew.

This Fall, Andrea was invited to deliver the keynote address at the Soroptimist International District Meeting — a prestigious gathering of women leaders dedicated to advancing opportunity, service, and community impact.

The invitation reflects the growing recognition of the work Cospire is leading across the Tahoe Basin and beyond: helping women step into their purpose with clarity, confidence, and connection.

🔹 A Message That Resonated

In her keynote, Purpose Rising, Andrea explored a question at the heart of every woman’s leadership journey:

What does it look like to walk fully in your purpose — and what becomes possible when you do?

Sharing her journey from South Africa to Canada, through reinvention in Tahoe, and ultimately founding Cospire, Andrea outlined a framework that now anchors Cospire’s impact:

- Root yourself in your story.
- Grow through relationships.
- Rise through action.

Women in the room immediately recognized themselves in the stories of burden, expectation, and pressure — and also in the possibility of rising beyond them.

Andrea challenged a belief many women silently carry: that we must do it all, all the time, for everyone. And she offered a new path forward:

Be the woman who abandons expectations, leads with intention — and rises.

The energy in the room shifted. Conversations continued long after the keynote ended. Attendees left with a renewed sense that purpose is not a concept — it’s a practice. A pathway. A calling.

🔹 A Rising Leadership Voice

This keynote marks more than a moment — it signals a shift.

Across the region, organizations are turning to Cospire to bring conversations about purpose, resilience, and women’s leadership into their workplaces and communities.

And this keynote underscored why:

- When women lead from purpose, teams strengthen.
- When women rise in confidence, organizations rise in impact.
- When women connect deeply, communities change.

This is the heart of Cospire’s work — and audiences are asking for more.

When women rise with intention and purpose, the world around them rises too.

.

Let this be the week you trade “doing it all” for doing what aligns. Rise with purpose — and watch who rises with you!

We’ve all heard it — “I want to be respectful of Person X, but…”

It sounds thoughtful on the surface. In truth, it’s often a conversational landmine.

Research on workplace communication shows that phrases like this — much like the word “but” itself — erase everything that came before it. Instead of showing respect, it signals that you’ve already made up your mind. It tells your listener: I’m not here to understand; I’m here to counter.

And here’s what happens next:
The other person shuts down.
The issue remains unresolved.
Trust quietly erodes.

In leadership, intent isn’t impact. The desire to appear diplomatic can actually come across as passive-aggressive, breaking psychological safety and stalling collaboration.

So what does better leadership sound like?
👉 “I hear your point, and I’d love to understand more about how you landed there.”
👉 “Here’s how I’m seeing it — can we unpack both perspectives?”
👉 “We both want the same outcome. Let’s explore how to get there.”

These phrases turn disagreement into dialogue — the mark of an emotionally intelligent leader.

Because true respect isn’t a disclaimer before disagreement.
It’s how you listen, how you respond, and how you co-create solutions in the moments that follow.

As leaders, let's shift from reacting to responding, from defending to understanding — the art of leadership that builds bridges, not walls.

In leadership — and in life — your environment shapes your evolution.

It’s not just who’s around you, but what they bring out of you.
The calm that steadies you when things get rough.
The push that challenges you when you’ve grown too comfortable.
The honesty that calls you higher, even when it’s hard to hear.

Whether you’re swimming with sharks or walking into boardrooms, the company you keep defines how far — and how fearlessly — you’ll go.

Choose mentors who challenge you. Collaborators who elevate you. And circles that remind you to keep diving deeper..

She Leads First.

A new week invites us to go first —
to be the ones who lead through calm, courage, and clarity when others are waiting for direction.

Here are three ways to lead first this week:

1️⃣ Be the first to resolve, not react.
When challenges surface, pause before responding. Ask: “What outcome do we actually need?” Then move toward it with intention — not emotion.

2️⃣ Be the first to connect.
Reach out. Reopen a conversation. Make an introduction. Women who lead first know that real progress happens through relationships, not silence.

3️⃣ Be the first to celebrate progress — not just perfection.
Spot the forward motion, however small, and name it. Confidence compounds when we honor what’s already working.

This week, lead first — with empathy, direction, and purpose. Because when you go first, others find the courage to follow.

"I’m not everything I want to be yet. But I am a lot of things I wanted to be years ago."

So often, we focus on what lies ahead—the unfinished goals, the dreams not yet in hand. But pause for a moment. Look back. You are already walking in shoes your past self only dreamed of wearing.

Growth doesn’t arrive all at once. It comes in seasons—each one carrying lessons, resilience, and strength that prepare us for what’s next.

Here are 5 ways to embrace your current season:

✨1. Celebrate Your Becoming.
Pause to honor what you’ve already accomplished. Write down three things your past self longed for that you now embody.

✨ 2. Reframe “Not Yet.”
Swap “I can’t” for “not yet.” That single word opens the door to possibility instead of closing it.

✨ 3. Trust the Season.
Each stage—whether it’s career-building, parenting, caregiving, or community work—has its own wisdom. Let yourself fully live this season before rushing into the next.

✨ 4. Gather the Lessons.
Every challenge brings growth. Ask: What is this season teaching me? What strength is being shaped in me right now?

✨ 5. Trust the Next Door.
Doors will open when you’re ready to walk through them. Today’s steps are preparing you for tomorrow’s opportunities.

A reminder to all women: You are not behind—you are becoming. Each season is equipping you, shaping your voice, and steadying your strength. In the words and insight of Louisa May Alcott: “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”

At Cospire, we believe strong leadership is not built in isolation. It begins with a single woman willing to take a leap of faith in her abilities, to step first into a new space, and to show that it can be done. These are the pioneers, the trailblazers—the women who hold the door open for others and create space for more women to walk through with confidence.

That is why we are honored to partner with the Tahoe Chamber, alongside the event sponsors, for the next Women in Leadership workshop: Breaking Barriers: Women Leading in Male-Dominated Fields.

This conversation will introduce you to three incredible women who have forged new paths in law enforcement, hospitality, and visual effects. Their stories remind us that when women rise, and when they bring other women with them, the impact stretches far beyond any one person’s career—it shapes the future of our communities.

The program, facilitated by Natalie Lehman, MSOL of She Means Business Coaching, will include a lively speed networking round designed to spark meaningful connections. Because lasting change comes not only from inspiration, but from the relationships and collaborations that grow over time.

Cospire itself found its early roots in the Chamber’s Women in Leadership program, and today we stand as a dedicated nonprofit working to catalyze connection, mentorship, and growth across career, life, and community. We are thrilled to continue this journey, and grateful to stand alongside Tahoe Chamber and our community partners in support of women’s leadership needs.

Together, we are building more than events. We are building a movement—where one woman’s leap forward becomes an open pathway for many others to follow.

Join us Friday, October 10th, 2025, at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe.

✨ Contented Friday ✨

In leadership and in life, not everyone is meant to walk the full journey with you. Some reinforce old patterns, others spark the growth you’ve been reaching for. 🌱

The key is learning to notice the difference—and then making intentional choices about where you place your energy.

💡 Three ways to apply this in your career:

- Audit your circle: Who are the colleagues, mentors, or peers that leave you energized after a conversation? Who leaves you drained? Pay attention to the pattern.

- Seek the stretch: Growth rarely comes from those who agree with us all the time. Look for people who respectfully challenge your assumptions and invite you to think differently.

- Reframe endings: If someone’s role in your journey is complete, let them go with gratitude. Every relationship—whether a cycle or a guide—teaches something valuable.

“Vulnerability is not about winning or losing. It’s having the courage to show up when you can’t control the outcome.” — Brené Brown

As you step into this new season, surround yourself with those who challenge, inspire, and help you become better.

Don’t let your week steer you — you steer the week.

At Cospire, we believe Monday isn’t something to survive. It’s the day to set intention, direction, and momentum.

Start with the 3-3-3 Method to anchor your energy and focus:
• 3 hours on your most important project
• 3 shorter tasks that move things forward
• 3 maintenance activities to keep your world running

And one key boundary we live by:
• Email only twice a day. The rest of your time? Reserved for real work that matters.

Start strong. Stay focused. The rest of the week will follow your lead.
