The City is committed to enhancing its stormwater system to better manage flooding events.

Community Development Director Josh McEnany and staff attended the annual pre-hurricane coordination meeting with the City’s debris removal contractor and monitoring firm. While we hope their services won’t be needed this season, staff and our contractors are prepared and ready to respond if necessary.

We will be providing updates to our residents via Facebook and on our website to keep you informed of our progress. We have both large and small-scale improvement projects that we will be completing in our residential neighborhoods so stay tuned.

Last night at the monthly Citizens Alert, Citizens Patrol, and CERT Meeting, the South Daytona Citizens Alert Council proudly presented two community support checks.

The first check was presented to Team Daytona in support of the Daytona Beach Police Department's 2026 Golf Tournament. Sergeant Gary Salt and Mike Jarvis shared information about the event and highlighted the positive impact their organization continues to make throughout the community. They also shared information on their upcoming Casting with a Cop Event (Kids Fishing Event) on June 20, 2026, at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

The second check was presented to the South Daytona Lions Club in appreciation of their assistance with the Spring Baseball concession stand.

We are incredibly appreciative of our dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to raise funds that allow us to support other organizations and individuals who are equally committed to serving our community.

Please note that there will be no meeting in July. Our next Citizens Alert, Citizens Patrol, and CERT Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 6, at 6:00 p.m. at the Piggotte Community Center.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and community partners.
