When God doesn’t take the thorn away, His grace is still enough. This week we looked at Paul’s thorn in the flesh and what it means to accept it, pray honestly about it, and lean on grace through it.

Jesus loves His Church and so should we.

Jesus didn’t just come to die for us. He came to faithfully live the life humanity had failed to live.

Where Adam disobeyed, Jesus obeyed.
Where Israel failed in the wilderness, Jesus remained faithful.
Where humanity gave in to temptation, Jesus overcame.

The early Church described this idea as recapitulation: in Christ, the story of humanity is taken up and lived again, but this time in perfect obedience to the Father.

Jesus enters our story to undo what sin has done.

“For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.”
Romans 5:19

That’s the good news. Where we failed, Christ was faithful. And through Him, we are made new.

The enemy loves to put a question mark where God has put a period.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, Satan questioned His identity, offered Him shortcuts, and even twisted Scripture. But again and again, Jesus responded: “It is written.”

We need to be people who know God’s Word, trust God’s Word, and use God’s Word.

But our hope isn’t that we’ll simply try harder than everyone else. Our hope is Jesus. He faced temptation and remained faithful where humanity had failed. He did what we could never do for ourselves.

So get the Word into your heart. Read it. Study it. Memorize it. Stand on it.

And above all, put your hope in Jesus.

What if weakness isn’t evidence that God has left you?

In 2 Corinthians 11, Paul gives us a strange kind of resume. Instead of highlighting his successes, he points to his suffering, his scars, and the moments when he simply wasn’t strong enough.

The Christian life doesn’t promise freedom from hardship. It promises that Jesus will be faithful in the middle of it.

Your pain is real, but it is not your identity.
Your weakness is real, but it does not disqualify you.
Your hard season is real, but it does not mean God has abandoned you.

“If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.”
2 Corinthians 11:30
