BREAKING: The 60 days of Florida’s legislative session have concluded. While lawmakers will have to come back in the following weeks to finalize the budget — together, we just achieved the impossible AGAIN: Every anti-LGBTQ bill filed this year has been defeated!

This is more than a policy victory; it’s a testament to the unstoppable force of people power, coalition-building, and a growing refusal to let hate go unchallenged. Last year, we stopped or neutralized 21 of 22 anti-LGBTQ bills. This year, we made a clean sweep. That’s not luck — that’s the strength of our grassroots movement.

This win belongs to every person who stood up, spoke out, and locked arms with their neighbors to stop the attacks before they could advance. And while we celebrate, we know the fight isn’t over. This session still delivered real harm to democracy and equity that impacts all Floridians—and we are just as committed to undoing that damage and building a Florida that truly belongs to all of us.

After great consideration, and a heavy heart, I have decided not to be running CFLSE as President. Due to physical and mental heath reasons, it has become too much. I will still be involved, but the new president will be Devyn Fern. I know they will do the organization, and the community, a great service. So, let’s welcome them and show them some love!

Good afternoon CFLSE family,

I just wanted to inform you that we have not been active recently due to my grandmother being unwell. Unfortunately, and devastatingly, she passed away on Feb. 26th and things have not been easy. She was my best friend and confidant.

On that note, I am unsure when things will be up and running. I am aware that things are not good in our country and in our state, but I do not have the capacity to organize. As the primary organizer, it’s emotionally impossible at this time.

However, one of our amazing board members is working on getting Volusia Q***r Peers back up and running. So, please be patient as I traverse this difficult time.
