These past couple of days a few of our members had the opportunity to attend the National Council of Negro Women 61st National Convention in Baltimore, Maryland under a Collegiate Scholarship. We are more than thankful to have had representatives of our Bethune-Cookman University Section to serve as delegates and vote for newly elected positions. More than 1,300 members from across the state including collegiate, community, and local sections were in attendance. They were able to connect with other collegiate sections and network with each other as we all share the same goals and aspirations to further advance the lives of African American Women.

Our members, Miss NCNW Jaโ€™Myra Harris, Treasurer Taheerah Palmer, Zanaya Arthurton, and Section President Madison Roberts, had the chance to be present in the many workshops the conference provided for its members.
Workshops such as , the communications workshop, and membership workshops. The Plenary session and presentation of updated information regarding NCNW was so insightful. There was also a vendor marketplace to purchase clothing and a wide variety of networking opportunities. We look forward to continuing the work in our collegiate section and keeping Dr. Mary McLeod Bethuneโ€™s legacy and vision alive ๐Ÿฅ€๐Ÿ’œ

This morning the Bethune-Cookman section of National Council of Negro Women attended and served as ushers at todayโ€™s Convocation.

โ€œThis vital event marked the official start of our academic journey together and offered a unique opportunity to connect with our peers, faculty, and the broader university community.โ€

We loved the words โœจโ€Shine Bright On Bethune-Cookman Universityโ€โœจ ~Words by keynote speaker, Reverend Dr. Otis Moss lll. We will take those words with us throughout this school year, the rest of our journey at B-CU & after. NCNW will continue to โ€œShine Bright On Bethune-Cookman Universityโ€
