🌈 Happy Pride Month from Center for Positive Change 🌈

At Center for Positive Change, our mission is rooted in strengthening individuals, families, and our community through nonviolence, healing, and positive change.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the courage it takes to live authentically and the strength of those who have advocated for a world where everyone can be seen, heard, and valued. We recognize that many LGBTQ+ individuals continue to face barriers that impact their mental health, well-being, and sense of belonging. That is why creating safe, affirming, and inclusive spaces is so important to us.

Our vision is a community where all people feel safe, seen, respected, and supported. We are committed to fostering an environment where every person who walks through our doors is met with compassion, dignity, and acceptance.

To our LGBTQ+ clients, colleagues, families, and community members: thank you for trusting us with your stories, your journeys, and your healing. Your resilience, authenticity, and contributions make our community stronger.

This month, and every month, we stand with you.

With pride,
Center for Positive Change

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and today on Mental Health Professionals Day, we want to recognize and celebrate the incredible individuals who show up every day to support healing, hope, and positive change in our community. 💚

At Center for Positive Change, our mental health professionals do far more than provide services: they listen without judgment, advocate fiercely, walk alongside people in their hardest moments, and help individuals and families rediscover strength within themselves.

Today we honor:
Alex, Camden, Christian, Emily, Janet, Jen, Karissa, Michael, Michelle, Neil, Raychel, Richie, Shelby, and Steve.

Thank you for the compassion you give, the emotional weight you carry, the lives you impact, and the safe spaces you create every single day. The work you do matters deeply, even on the days you may not realize just how much.

Your dedication is changing lives and strengthening our community every day. We are grateful for each of you. 💚

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of someone who meant so much to our CPC family and the community we serve.

Lisa was more than a colleague. She was a steady presence, a problem-solver, and a deeply compassionate professional who believed wholeheartedly in our mission. Her passion for this work was evident in everything she did, and the impact she made on our clients and our team cannot be overstated.

In honor of her dedication, commitment, and the lasting difference she made, we are naming Lisa our Honorary Employee of the Month for April.

While we mourn her loss, we also carry forward the example she set, showing up with care, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the importance of this work. She will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever a part of CPC.

Our thoughts are with her loved ones and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Thank you for everything, Mama Lisa 🤍

✨Employee Spotlight✨

This is no April Fool’s joke - our Employee of the Month for March is Steven, our incredible Director of Clinical Services!

With over 30 years of experience in the mental health field, Steven brings a depth of knowledge that truly strengthens our entire team. He leads with kindness and grace, creating an environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and encouraged to grow.

Steven has a unique way of sharing his expertise while also helping each of us discover and build on our own strengths. He consistently gives our team opportunities to learn, develop, and become the best versions of ourselves, both professionally and personally.

As if this recognition wasn’t special enough, it also comes at the perfect time, coinciding with his 7-year anniversary with the Center for Positive Change! We are so grateful for his dedication, leadership, and the positive impact he continues to make.

Steven, thank you for being an inspiring leader, an exceptional counselor, and a true example of what it means to care deeply for both your team and your clients. We are beyond lucky to have you!

Spirit Week at CPC is in full swing and today is Decades Day…and we understood the assignment!

We didn’t just stop at the 80s or 90s — we took it all the way back to prehistoric times 🦖

From dinosaurs to a few questionable fashion choices through the decades, it’s safe to say creativity is alive and well around here!

Once upon a time, they were just kids with big imaginations, messy hair, scraped knees, and dreams about who they might become someday.

Like most kids, they probably didn’t know exactly where life would take them. They didn’t know the paths they would walk with others, the stories they would hear, or the strength they would help people discover.

But somewhere along the way, those dreams grew into something powerful: a calling to help others heal, grow, and find hope.

Today, those kids are the social workers of Center for Positive Change.

Every day they sit with people during some of life’s hardest moments, offer compassion when it’s needed most, and help individuals and families take steps toward healthier, brighter futures. They are advocates, listeners, guides, and quiet agents of change in our community.

In honor of Social Worker’s Day, we’re sharing a look back at where their stories began. These childhood photos remind us that every person who changes lives today was once a kid simply dreaming about who they might become.

And what an incredible impact those dreams have grown into. Please join us in thanking our Social Workers today ❤️

✨Employee Spotlight✨

We are proud to recognize our February Employee of the Month, Neil Pittman, who has served as an Abuse Intervention Group Facilitator with our agency for the past 13 years.

For over a decade, he has shown unwavering reliability and integrity in one of the most challenging areas of our work. Week after week, he facilitates groups with professionalism, fairness, and a steady commitment to accountability and change. His presence is consistent, his standards are clear, and his dedication to doing the work the right way has helped strengthen both our program and our community.

Domestic violence intervention work requires patience, emotional resilience, and strong character. He brings those qualities to every group he leads. While his work often happens quietly and without recognition, its impact is large and lasting.

Thirteen years of showing up.
Thirteen years of guiding hard conversations.
Thirteen years of fostering positive change.

Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you, Neil!
