Five Days. One Community.
25/250 was more than a celebration. It was a reflection of who we were, who we are, and who we will continue to be.
Twenty-five years ago, Somerset County was called upon in a way no community could ever prepare for - and when that call came, Somerset County stepped up.
Our first responders answered. Our neighbors opened their doors. Our community showed up for strangers who quickly became family. In the midst of an unimaginable tragedy, Somerset County became part of a story that would forever be woven into the history of our nation.
This summer, 25/250 gave us the opportunity to reflect on that legacy while celebrating the community that has continued to carry it forward.
And now, as September 11 approaches and we stand in the wake of the 25th anniversary of that day, we remember why gathering together meant so much.
We honor the 40 passengers and crew members of Flight 93 whose courage and sacrifice changed the course of history. We honor the first responders, families, volunteers and community members who answered the call in the days, months and years that followed. And we honor a community that continues to understand the importance of showing up for one another.
Twenty-five years later, that spirit is still here.
It is in our neighbors.
It is in our volunteers.
It is in our first responders.
It is in the people who choose, every day, to make Somerset County a place worth calling home.
25/250 reminded us that while history may bring a community together, it is what we choose to do afterward that defines us.
We remember where we’ve been.
We honor those who brought us here.
And together, we carry their legacy forward.
This is Somerset County.
And this is who we will continue to be.
Thank you so much to Skene 19 Films for capturing the true heart of Somerset County.
