Thank you Congressman Lawler for helping us continue our tradition of placing a flag in our town's gazebo in Bailey Park! Since Covid the Society had been putting up a flag in the gazebo for special patriotic holidays. The original flag had to be retired. Fortunately it was replaced by the one you see today, which was donated by the congressman and flown over the U.S. Capitol. This year for the semiquincentennial the flag was hung Memorial Day weekend and will remain flying until the holiday season.

Come see it Sept. 11, 10am, when we hold the Patriot Day ceremony at the gazebo in Bailey Park.

Congratulations all! ..and to our own Jeff Zimmermann and Grace Zimmermann

One of the primary documents in the WCHS Revolutionary War Manuscripts collection is “A Loyalist Enlistment” from August 4, 1781. Captain Oliver Templeton presented this certificate to James Richards to prove that Richards enrolled in his company of the Loyal Volunteers of NewYork on August 3, 1781. This unit was made up of Loyalists living in New York City. Find this (scroll down) and other American Revolution documents related to Westchester County at: https://westchesterhistory.com/mss22/
