Solon Fire Department Solon Fire is a volunteer Department which has a Chief and three Assistant Chiefs and 8 members on the roster. We respond to 40-70 calls annually.

Bingham boys and girls won the gold ball championship today. Looking like possibly 530. They’ll be coming through Solon with fire trucks. If you hear them comingback north if anybody could step outside give them a wave on the way through Solon. 🏀Congratulations

We was called Saturday to help with a fire after arriving it was pointed out that the Fuel tank had fallen out under the truck so that was not good as you can only assume i have to thank Charlie Robbins for sending his ramp truck up to help pull the tank out and load it up for us Nick Rollins and Tommy Courtney for rushing there to get the tank out and truck ready for the tow truck and Jeremy from Anson Fire for truck out and pumping water through our pump so we would-not freeze and blow the pump Leonard’s Heavy Rescue Towing for calling him guy in off a vacation day to send him up so we could get our truck towed back to Solon and back in were it would be warm till we can make the repairs I have to say it is so nice being a part of such a great small part of Maine were everyone will jump in and help out still 😁 Thank you for Reading my Post

Just want to say not sure how many people have scanners in there home or see online pages how many emergency call we have in the surrounding area’s with medical accidents and Structure Fires  but I want to take a minute of everyone’s time to say we are so lucky to have the Somerset County Regional Communications Center the ladies and gentleman that work so hard with no recognition for everything they do fo rall us Firefighters get to look good out taking care of the emergencies were people see us and thank us but if we didn’t have the Dispatchers doing what they do we couldn’t do what we do so if you see a Dispatcher out around just say thank you they deserve to hear it. Thank you very much for your time.
