Hearty congratulations to the Worcester County 4-H Nature Adventurers Club for earning a BLUE ribbon at the highly competitive Maryland State Fair! That's a nice premium check that we are sure will be put to great use by this active club!

For some of our newer clubs, you can aspire to do a banner or a booth to enter the Worcester County Fair AND the Maryland State Fair in 2027. The theme for 2027 is “4-H: Ready Then, Ready Now, Ready for Anything”! You may also do an open theme of your choice. Doing a banner and/or a booth is a great team building activity and one that the entire club can participate in! The Eastern Shore Literacy Association (ESLA) is excited to announce the 2026–2027 Young Authors’ Contest!

Students in Grades 1–12 throughout Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties are invited to showcase their creativity by submitting an original short story or poem. Local winners will have the opportunity to advance to the State of Maryland Literacy Association (SoMLA) Young Authors’ Contest!

🎓 Grades: 1–12
📅 Submission Deadline: December 18, 2026
🏆 Local winners advance to the state-level competition!

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate student voice, imagination, and a love of writing across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
