The countdown is on. Under A Nevada Sky is just three months away, and we'd love to see you there.

Join us Saturday, September 12 at the historic Mormon Station in Genoa for an evening of locally sourced food, great company, and genuine connection to the land and water we're working to conserve. Cowboy casual attire, 4:30–9:00pm.

Tickets are available now! If you're a business or organization looking to make a meaningful community investment, we have sponsorship opportunities with great visibility and event benefits. We're also accepting silent and live auction donations, a wonderful way to support the conservancy and get your brand in front of a passionate crowd.

Have you heard of a sage-grouse lek?

This group of male sage-grouse are strutting and bobbing as part of their annual courtship display to attract a mate. Male sage-grouse congregate on mating grounds, called leks, and perform elaborate displays where they inflate yellow air sacs in their chest and make popping sounds to attract females.

The Walker Basin Conservancy’s Conservation Science team surveys leks in the Walker Basin each year to track population trends and help support management efforts. Across their range, sage-grouse populations have been on the decline for several decades. Population data can inform strategies for bolstering sage-grouse numbers and improving their habitat.

75 years of honoring our Armed Forces, and what a celebration it was. 🎉

This past Saturday we joined the parade at Hawthorne's 75th Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration. Our beach-themed entry included two classic cars, and the one and only Cecil the Sea Serpent float right behind us.

If you weren't there, mark your calendar for next year. Things like this are always happening out here.
