Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation reached enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Today, communities across the country mark the holiday by reflecting on freedom, equality, civil rights, education, and community engagement.

📝 WHAT DOES "OTB" MEAN?

If you see "OTB" on a primary ballot, it stands for Opportunity To Ballot.

Instead of choosing between named candidates, voters may write in the name of an eligible person for that office.

An OTB is essentially a write-in opportunity that appears on the ballot.

Understanding your ballot helps you make informed choices.
