Jr. Amvets 6472 Silver Creek A safe place for kids to learn and Volunteer in their local community AMVETS recognizes a subordinate organization known as Junior AMVETS.

Junior AMVETS are the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and grandchildren of AMVETS, deceased members of
AMVETS, members of the Auxiliary, Sons Of AMVETS and servicemen and servicewomen who died and who would have been eligible for AMVETS membership, including all children that they
may be legal guardian of . Age eligibility is from the age of five (5) to and including, seventeen
(17) Years. What

is the Juniors AMVETS Organization? Junior AMVETS organize youth programs, Americanism Programs, Drill Teams, Service Programs and assist the AMVETS and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary organizations in their service programs. Junior AMVETS are organized on the Local, State and National Level.

Come on down to Amvets in Silver creek for a Thanksgiving dinner - you don’t need to be a veteran, we welcome anyone who needs a meal and some company today. We’ve got turkey, ham, potatoes & gravy, corn, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and some cherry or pumpkin pie. We’ll be here from 2 - 6pm.

City of Dunkirk - Travel Advisory
Effective at 12:00 PM

As the Department of Public Works continues its efforts in snow removal, the City of Dunkirk Police Department, in coordination with the Mayor’s Office, DPW, and DFD, is downgrading to a travel advisory at noon. Non-essential travel is strongly discouraged.

We continue to ask residents to follow alternate parking regulations by moving vehicles to the alternate side by 5 p.m. daily. Even during a travel ban, vehicles must be moved. Not moving them can cause dangerous traffic problems. Abiding by the parking regulations will help with snow plowing and emergency vehicle access to the streets. Many vehicles have been left under snow in violation of alternate parking regulations. Those vehicles need to be moved as soon as possible, or they will be towed.
