It is with great sadness that Millburn FMBA Local 32 shares the passing of Retired Firefighter Robert S. โ€œBobโ€ Oliver, who passed away on July 24, 2026.

Bob proudly served the Township of Millburn for 25 years as a career firefighter, dedicating his life to protecting our community. Before beginning his fire service career, Bob honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Independence during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Bob will be remembered not only for his years of service, but also for the life he built with his wife, Debbie, his love of mechanics, the outdoors, and the island he was so proud to call home.

In keeping with Bobโ€™s wishes, private services will be held. His family asks that, in his memory, you turn on some oldies and sing along, or spend a little time outside enjoying nature and appreciating the beauty around you.

On behalf of the members of Millburn FMBA Local 32, we extend our deepest condolences to Bobโ€™s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Rest easy, Brother. Your watch is complete.

Captain Jeffery Wanamaker officially left the building today.

Congrats on your retirement, Jeff. After 5 years as a volunteer and 31 years on the career side, youโ€™ve definitely earned it.

Over the years, Jeff was involved in just about everything. Between the Local FMBA, the Welfare Association, and plenty of other things behind the scenes, if something needed to get done, he was always willing to step upโ€ฆ even if that meant delegating those tasks.

Your dedication to this job, this department, and the Millburn community never went unnoticed. Thanks for everything youโ€™ve done over the years and for leaving the place better than you found it.

Enjoy retirement, Cap. Weโ€™ll miss having you around the firehouse. Stay healthy, enjoy the extra time with your family, and donโ€™t be a stranger.

As Memorial Day weekend comes to a close, we pause to remember and honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

It was an honor to take part in the Millburn Memorial Day Parade and stand alongside the community in remembrance of those who gave everything for our freedom. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿš’
