THANK YOU! We collected more than 190 hoodies and sweatshirts for the 4th annual Hoodies for Hope drive!

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone in our community who donated and helped make this effort a success. Your generosity will help keep our unhoused neighbors warm during the cold winter months. Special thanks for organizing donation locations to: Tim O'Leary at the Champlain Valley School District, the CVU Volunteer Outreach Club, the Shelburne United Methodist Church, and the Charlotte 50+ Community Center.

We thank Jason Fitzgerald for continuing to organize this Hoodies for Hope drive throughout the Burlington, Vermont, area - and we thank CSH Rotary member Lori York for coordinating our part of the drive. With our contribution, Jason says he will have distributed over 1,500 hoodies this fall to people who need them.

We are grateful to be part of a community where neighbors care for neighbors. ! 💙 Together we can make a difference in our communities. Thank you for your donations.

What can a few determined people — and a worldwide network of Rotarians — actually accomplish?

Next week, we're incredibly excited to welcome Lisa Mure, MEd, co-founder of Common Man for Ukraine, to speak with the Charlotte-Shelburne-Hinesburg Rotary Club.

Common Man for Ukraine began in 2022 when four volunteers in Plymouth, New Hampshire, saw the devastating impact of the war on Ukraine's children and decided they couldn't simply stand by. Inspired by Rotary's commitment to Service Above Self, they reached out to fellow Rotarians in Poland and Ukraine and began building a way to help.

What started locally has become an extraordinary humanitarian effort. Common Man for Ukraine and its partners have delivered more than 4.5 million pounds of food and supplies, hundreds of generators and more than 10,000 sleeping bags, while also providing ongoing mental-health support to children and families living with the trauma of war.

Lisa brings more than two decades of experience in public health and mental health to this work and will share the story of Common Man for Ukraine, the children and families they've met, and what can happen when ordinary people decide to take action.

This is one you won't want to miss.

Guests are always welcome — come join us and hear an incredible example of Rotary in action.
