Bout to Get Schooled takes over Redding Sports Park this Saturday with four teams, six games and a full day of tournament-style roller derby!

First whistle is at 11 AM, with games running through 3:45 PM and awards at 3:55 PM. Swipe through for the full timeline, then meet this year’s teams:

Yeti is captain of the Gotham Roller Derby All-Stars, co-captain of Team USA Roller Derby, and a skater with Black Diaspora Derby and Salaam Roller Derby, and she’ll be in Redding THIS SUNDAY coaching a clinic at Redding Sports Park!!

For this clinic, we’ve asked Yeti to focus on strong blocking skills and offensive strategies, including ways to shut down opposing jammers and create opportunities for your own.

Get on the track this weekend and learn directly from one of the best in the game!

The AP Anarchists did NOT come to Bout to Get Schooled last year just to pass the class. They came for extra credit 🤓🛼

Matching glasses, school-themed fits, and FULL commitment to the assignment.

This year’s teams haven’t been announced yet, but there is one thing you can lock in now: your event team shirt!!

The deadline to register with a Bout to Get Schooled shirt is Saturday, August 22 at 11:59pm

After that, you can still register to skate through Friday, August 28 at 11:59pm, but you’ll need to bring your own shirt in your assigned team color.

Big thank you to Fratelli's Pizza Parlor for hosting our Recruitment Night on Friday! 💜

We had such a great time meeting everyone who came out, talking derby, answering questions, and sharing some seriously delicious pizza.

Fratelli’s gave us the perfect space to gather and even surprised us with a free cheese pizza for the group. We’re so grateful for local businesses that make room for community organizations like ours!

Bout to Get Schooled is back September 5! 🎒

Register individually and we’ll assign you to one of four teams for a full day of tournament-style roller derby at Redding Sports Park. The mixer is open to eligible A-, B-, and C-level skaters ages 18 and older.

Skater registration is $50 with a team shirt or $30 if you bring your own according to the team instructions provided after assignments.

We’re also looking for skating officials and non-skating officials to volunteer and help make the tournament happen!

Important: If you completed the interest form shared in May, you still need to fill out the official registration form. The interest form did not register you for the event (but thank you for filling it out!)
