We made goal plus three this past year. I will be president aagain with only a few minor changes in officers so I hope we can make goal again this year. our post and auxiliary are working together again and I hope we have a very productive year. Let's all work for the betterment of our veterans.

We will be having a Mexican Fiesta on May 9th at 6. there will be Mexican food, a pinata, dancing the Mexican Hat dance and the Macarana and other great fun. All this for $10.00. Tickets go on sale April 1st and will be sold until May 1st. Call 275-8211 for tickets.

We are getting ready to do our Poppy distributn this month. We will be all over the city of shasta lake starting tomorrow at the Damboree Pancake breakfat. Look for us at one of your favorite spots and suport our veterans by wearing a poppy and making a donation. Then on June 1st stop by our post for our great yard sale. It is always a big moneymaker for our unit and we always ave lots of nice things and there will be other sellers besides us. the time is from 8-3. you can also rent a space for just $5.00

We are having a best chili conteston March 9th at our Post. The Aux. really needs a god fundraiser so if you have a good chili recipe it is only$5.00 to enter and you get to taste everyone else's chili and get a bowl of your favorite. The rules are really simple. Any meat and any beans can be used as long as they are cooked at home ang brought to the post. Anyone intereted in just eating the chili will pay$5.00 and that includes tasting alll the different chils and then a bowl of their favorite. They will then be voting on their favorite as this is a contest voted on by the customers. Hope to see you there Deadline for entry is the 3rd. Call the post at 275-8211 to get an entry form.

Two big fundraising events for our unit next month first the parking lot sale on oct 1 then A Sock Hop on the 15th hope to see you there The Sock Hop should be great fun there will be photos to try and identify who they belong to plus a song trivia contest. music from the 50's and 60's come dressed in clothes from that era and have a great time.
