Program Spotlight: Coastal Connections Camp Leader Training! 🌊🔎🤗

This year, KMTA teamed up with Alaska Sea Grant CORaL Network Partner to welcome educators from Bethel, Seldovia, Seward, and Valdez for Coastal Connections Leader Training. Together, we co-developed and co-led the training, giving educators the tools, curriculum, and confidence to lead meaningful summer experiences that help campers connect with the coasts they call home. Throughout the week, leaders built facilitation skills, explored hands-on activities, and shared ideas for creating experiences that support curiosity, confidence, and connection.

Coastal Connections Camps are now taking place in Seward, Whittier, Kodiak, Seldovia, Bethel, and Valdez. A huge thank you to guest speakers Carol Conant and Andrew Scrivo for sharing your time, knowledge, and passion. We can't wait to see all the adventures the rest of summer has in store!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Seward Children’s Museum during the First Friday Art Walk! 🎨

It was such a joy to see the museum filled with families, creativity, and the incredible ocean-inspired artwork created by kids in the Seward Arts Council Art Discovery Camp with .

Youth360 was proud to partner with the Seward Arts Council to help make this camp more affordable and accessible for local families, and we loved seeing the Seward Children’s Museum give these young artists a place to proudly share their work with the community.

It truly takes a village to create opportunities where kids can learn, connect, create, and shine. We are so grateful for the partners, families, instructors, and community members who make moments like this possible. 💚

We were thrilled to see this wonderful write-up in The Seward Folly celebrating all 53 Seward and Moose Pass youth who participated in the Mount Marathon Junior Race!

Thank you to The Seward Folly for helping us recognize these incredible young people and share more about Youth360, the Icelandic Prevention Model, and the community-wide prevention work happening in Seward and Moose Pass.

Our Fourth of July booth was created first and foremost to celebrate the junior racers. We also had a lot of fun asking visitors whether they were “as tough as a Seward kid” with our Summit Step Challenge, while raising awareness and a little support for Youth360.

We loved being part of the weekend and hope to make the Youth360 junior racer celebration an annual tradition!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Youth360 booth over the 4th of July weekend!

We loved seeing kids, teens, parents, grandparents, friends, and visitors take on the Summit Step Challenge: 45 seconds, as many steps as you could climb, and just enough mountain spirit to get everyone laughing, cheering, and trying “one more time.”

Your donations help support local Youth360 programs that strengthen protective factors for kids and families across Seward and Moose Pass: caring adults, safe places to go, healthy activities, strong friendships, and someone to talk to.

Thank you for showing up, stepping up, and helping us make the healthy choice the easy choice for local families. 💚

Courage. Perseverance. Tenacity. Heart.

Youth360 was proud to celebrate the Seward and Moose Pass youth who showed up for one of our community’s most unique and challenging traditions: the Mount Marathon Junior Race.

From the start line to the finish, these young runners reminded us what it looks like to try hard, climb high, keep going, and be part of something bigger than yourself. We loved honoring our 2026 junior racers with a banner featuring the names of local Seward and Moose Pass youth ages 9–17 who took on the mountain this year.

To every young racer: we are proud of you. Whether this was your first race or one more year in a growing tradition, you are part of Seward’s mountain-hearted legacy. 🏔️

🎨 Student-Led First Friday Art Show! 🎨
Join us on Friday, July 10th from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Seward Children’s Museum as we celebrate the incredible creativity of our young artists!
Students from Justine’s Art Discovery Camp will be showcasing their completed ocean-themed artworks as part of the First Friday Art Walk. This special exhibit highlights not only the talent and imagination of our students, but also the power of creative mentorship through the Seward Artists in Schools program.

We are thrilled to partner with the Seward Children’s Museum to share this work with our community and provide a space for these young artists to shine. Their artwork reflects a week of exploration, learning, and artistic growth.

A heartfelt thank you to our supporters, including the Seward Community Foundation and Youth 360 - Seward, whose investment in arts education helps make programs like this possible for local youth.
Come celebrate our students, support arts education, and enjoy an evening of community creativity! 💙🐚⭐
