Meet on the Selmont side of the bridge and dance into town in celebration, love and peace. Then a free concert at ArtsRevive 7:30-8:30.

TODAY!!!! Was an incredibly beautiful day in the neighborhood. The MACAS Youth Art Club installed 11 tarpaper murals onto boarded up windows creating Windows of Hope. Go see thrm on Water Ave. in East Selma…
The kids did an amazing job. And one of my favorite things was the neighbors that drove by and honked and waved and stopped and rolled down their windows to see what we were doing. One person said, “what’s the point?” And I promptly answered just joy! and beauty, and love and peace. I mean, what else is there?

Thank you Selma Center for Nonviolence Truth and Reconciliation for this fabulous project. Thank you Councilman Johnson for finding us spaces. Thank you Daphne Martin and the East Selma Neophytes Block Club for always welcoming us and joining in.

Ward 2 will be graced with this amazing mural, ”Reflect the Past, Protect the Future” created by David Butler, a Creative, Artist and Educator. David is one of our 3 guest artists from Columbus, OH. The Selma Rising Mural Festival could not happen with out MACAS’ partnership with an incredibly passionate and generous group from Columbus.
