A special thanks to Mrs. April Kimbrough!

No matter the request, her answer is always "yes." She is consistently available when needed, whether assisting with enrollment, coordinating and scheduling clubs, or supporting members at Keith Middle-High School. Her dedication, reliability, and commitment to our youth do not go unnoticed.

So grateful for our amazing Creative Sparks Art Club instructors, Jannie Higginbotham and Jo Taylor! Thank you for bringing creativity, inspiration, and hands-on art experiences to Dallas County youth, one club meeting at a time.

Thankful Thursday!!

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Gylendora Davis for her dedication, hard work, and unwavering support of Alabama 4-H. Thank you for continuing your service in Dallas County!!

Mrs. Davis shared her previous experiences and involvement with 4-H while teaching at Francis Marion School and Billingsley High School. Through her work with students, she supervised and facilitated a variety of 4-H projects and activities, including the $15 Challenge, leadership development programs, community gardening projects, and the eXtreme Birdhouse Challenge.Mrs. Davis reflected on the positive impact these experiences had on students, providing opportunities to develop leadership skills, creativity, teamwork, and a sense of community service. She strongly believes that every child should have the opportunity to experience the valuable lessons embedded in the 4-H curriculum, as they help prepare youth for success in school, careers, and life.

What a great day of learning and fun!

Scholars explored the importance of communication by practicing how to send and receive messages, listen actively, and give and understand clear directions. These essential skills help build confidence, teamwork, and leadership!

The deadline to apply for Ignite by 4-H in 2027 has been extended to October 5! 🌟🚀🍀

Hosted by National 4-H Council, Ignite brings together teens from all across the U.S. to Washington D.C. to immerse themselves in hands-on workshops, experiences and activities in their desired program area. 4-H'ers can choose from agriscience, animal science, community accelerators, CWF @ Ignite, STEM or healthy living.

With the addition of public speaking, career and life readiness and presentation workshops, participants will apply what they learn to their own life and take a step toward becoming .

Ignite 2027 will be held March 17-21 and is open to senior level 4-H members (ages 14-18). The deadline to apply closes September 28, 2026. If interested in applying or to learn more, speak to your county 4-H agent and visit www.aces.edu/4h/ignite-by-4-h/
