Notre chanson de la semaine : “Marcia Baïla” by Les Rita Mitsouko 🪩

This week we’re paying tribute to Catherine Ringer, the unforgettable voice and force of nature behind Les Rita Mitsouko (with Fred Chichin), who sadly passed away on September 14.

Released in 1984, “Marcia Baïla” became an unexpected hit and remains one of the most iconic and exuberant songs in French pop. Did you know that this song was written in memory of Marcia Moretto, an Argentine dancer and choreographer who was a friend and collaborator of Catherine Ringer?

This weekend, turn up your speakers and dance with us to celebrate the iconic Catherine Ringer 💙

That's a wrap on our first language and cultural immersion trip to Nice! 🇫🇷🏖

Accompanied by our executive director Otilia Baraboi (with a special appearance by AFSeattle teacher Kélian Brosse), the group enjoyed French immersion classes and cultural outings in the beautiful Côte d'Azur.

Un grand merci to Alliance Française Nice Côte d'Azur for the warm welcome! We’re grateful for this opportunity to collaborate and share our love of the French language and culture across borders💙

📚✨ Big news for our library!

We are thrilled to share that Alliance Française de Seattle has received a $9,750 grant from 4Culture's Equipment for Organizations program to support our library renovation project!

This funding will help us create a more welcoming, functional, and inspiring space for our students, members, families, and wider community: a place to read, learn, gather, and discover French and Francophone cultures. 🇫🇷🌍

Our library renovation has been an important project for AFSeattle, and this generous support brings us a big step closer to making that vision a reality.

A huge MERCI to 4Culture4Culture for investing in cultural organizations and community spaces across King County. 💙

We can’t wait to share the transformation with you!
