Spark Northwest staff Veena Prasad and Haya Muñoz joined energy leaders from across the Northwest this week for the Efficiency Exchange Conference. It was a great chance to explore the future of energy efficiency, building performance, and electrification. We toured Boise’s municipally operated geothermal heating system and Hidden Hollow biogas infrastructure facility. We heard about heat pumps specifications, load flexibility, AI tools for energy assessments, financing, and rural energy programs. We appreciated the chance to learn about innovative approaches and bring new ideas back to the communities we serve. We were also grateful to experience the beauty of the local Boise Basque culture through food and dance!

Thank you to The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) for hosting this dynamic event!

🌎 Earth Day in action! Spark Northwest kicked off our very first Energy Activators event at Asian Counseling and Referral Service—where community-led clean energy is already creating real momentum.

Clean energy isn’t the end goal. It’s a doorway—to healthier, more resilient communities shaping their own futures.

Huge thanks to David Tetsuo Beer, Operations Director at ACRS, for the solar tour and for sharing how their work supports the wellbeing of Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities.
From there, we mapped the ripple effects—bringing together utilities, health advocates, clean energy leaders, and community finance partners to imagine what’s possible when investment meets community vision.

It takes a village. ⚡️
