We envision a region that acts on a shared sense of responsibility to ensure everyone has a home. Our core values are equity, justice, and collective action. How we work: We are persistent, creative, and a strong independent voice. Our efforts are informed by real experience of front line service and housing providers, and people who are or have been homeless themselves. We advocate for public po
licies that work and make sense, and to secure long-term investments in housing, health, and human services that are scaled to meet our community's needs. From 1979 through 2016 we organized the annual One Night Count of people without shelter in King County. As stewards of this community-owned project, we established the goal of securing accurate data respectfully, and were recognized for our sound methodology by the U.S. Three straight years of double digit increases in unsheltered homelessness in 2014, 2015, and 2016 drove us to redirect our organizational resources to focus intensively on work to create scaled-up housing and lasting solutions.
