Whose voice from your family do you still carry when you pray?

Today we ask every refugee and immigrant family here: what song of home do you still sing? A hymn your mother sang, a chorus from church, a lullaby from your grandmother's village?

In exile, a song is not small. It carries the land, the language, and the people who loved us first. Tell us in the comments which song you still sing, and sing it for your children this week.

I arrived in SeaTac in December 2014 with my story, my faith, and almost nothing else.

The road to Seattle began long before that December. It began in a refugee camp, and it crossed eight years in Malawi, in Dzaleka, where we learned to wait without losing who we were.

Every refugee and immigrant family knows a road like this one. Echoes of the Ancients walks it honestly, from exile toward belonging.
