π We are thrilled to share a glimpse of our Healing Circle event during Refugees and Immigrants Week! πβ¨ For the past 4 years, we have been hosting these special gatherings, and every year, the experience grows more meaningful. This yearβs Healing Circle was no exception. π«Ά
Our RIW Healing Circles create a golden opportunity for parents and youth to come together in a shared space, rather than having separate sessions. Itβs a chance for group healing through open conversations, activities, and mutual support. Families, especially parents and children, engaged in meaningful moments that helped strengthen bonds, foster understanding, and celebrate resilience. πͺπ¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
This year's session was led by our incredible mental health certified counselor, who helped guide us through a journey of sharing personal strengths, challenges, and stories that empower us. π¬β€οΈ The beautiful lamp you see in the picture was our Talking Peace, passed around as a symbol of light and unity. It reminded us of many cherished moments from back home, sparking joy, nostalgia, and hope for the future. π―οΈπΈ
In addition, we shared a beautiful song, enjoyed cultural food, and participated in group activities that helped us visualize and celebrate our collective strength. πΆπ²π€² Through these moments, we connected on a deeper level, reinforcing our community's resilience and ability to uplift one another.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to King County MIDD for partnering with us and making this yearβs Healing Circle possible. Your support continues to help us foster healing, community, and hope. ππ½π
The Healing Circle serves as a reminder that, even far from home, we can build community, find healing, and strengthen one another. To everyone who attended and supported this yearβs Healing Circle β thank you for making it a powerful and transformative experience. πβ¨
Stay tuned for more updates from Refugees and Immigrants Week and how we continue building stronger, healthier communities. π
