NEPA Stands Up

09/19/2026

Frustrated by rising gas & grocery bills? Concerned about data centers getting tax breaks? Rely on county services like buses & housing?

Pennsylvanians work hard and care about our communities. We all want housing, food, & healthcare we can afford, and a bright future for our kids. We will discuss the impacts of state & federal budget cuts and what we can do about it!

Join our affordability town hall with County Councilman Chris Belles to hear from local guest speakers and share your concerns and experiences.

Come show support for this study that will give concrete evidence to the toll these data centers in Lackawanna county will have on our health. Commissioner Bill Gaughan is fighting for an independent countywide Health and Environmental Impact Assessment before data center projects move forward. We urge Commissioners Welby and Chermak to support this common-sense proposal. If these projects are truly safe, they should withstand independent scientific review. Join the commissioner mtg to demand facts before approvals—and public health before politics. Use this mobilize link to sign up! https://www.mobilize.us/pastandsup/event/1003347/

If you are unable to make the meeting, but still would like to show support for this study, email Commissioner Chermak and Welby. You can also watch the meetings on youtube at www.youtube.com//streams

This is a great opportunity to meet the council, get deets about this ordinance, ask questions, and voice your input. Throop is in a unique position due to its lack of proposed applications at this stage, so we have the ability to be proactive & create a strong ordinance! 💪

NEPA Stands Up for Fair and Free Elections Political Education training was great - it showed the kind of impact we can make when we come together to fight for our democracy. I look forward to using this background knowledge and the relationships forged during the training to further the fight for a free and fair election through non-violent means. For a PA that works for ALL OF US!

Do you have your plan to vote by May 19th?

If you have a mail-in or absentee ballot, it’s too late to mail it & ensure it arrives in time, so drop it off instead. See where you can return your ballot at https://vote.pa/find/return?org=pasu.

Voting in person? Make sure to check your voter registration & polling place at https://vote.pa/?org=pasu, & get to the polls between 7PM - 8PM! Bring a friend or a neighbor with you, & remember to remind 5 friends to vote too!

We all have a stake in this election, & it’s up to us to elect leaders who will work with & for us. We’d love to hear from you. Why are you voting by May 19th?
