For only the second time in its history, the American Red Cross has declared a national blood crisis. Patients may already be impacted. Blood donations have fallen to a four-year summer low. After many years of having our famous Roast Beef Dinners, the decision has been made by the department to cancel them permanently.

This is a decision that was not made lightly, and several discussions were held by the membership before we made the ultimate decision. Unfortunately, like all great things, this too has seen a lack of customers and help to work the dinners.

While we are sad that we had to cancel them, we still are proud our dinners lasted just over 4 decades, starting in the early 80s in the old #2 firehouse. Many memories were made whether you were a customer or a member of the department and we are so thankful for the support we’ve received for over 40 years. We truly have the best community around. Our other events will remain on schedule. Thank you everyone!

Fireworks in Scio are still a go!

We will be at the park for Independence Day festivities. We will open up at noon for fish and fries, the Scio VFD Ladies Auxiliary will also have their lemonade stand present. Hope to see you there!
