MOOSE and REMI, two 2 year old Lab mix siblings who are as lovable as can be were surrendered to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH due to their family’s relocation to another state. Instead of focusing on that, let’s focus on finding this inseparable duo a new forever home where they can continue to thrive together. These two littermates are incredibly bonded. Calling for one brings both running; petting one means the other will be at your side too. Their heart beats as one and being separated is unimaginable for them. We are striving to keep them together, though we sadly acknowledge that might not be possible if suitable applications aren’t received. MOOSE and REMI are housebroken, clever enough to ring a bell when they want to go out. They get along with other dogs and kids, and have never met a cat. Their vaccines are up to date; they are neutered/spayed, and microchipped. Initially, we are prioritizing applications for both siblings. If we don’t receive any promising ones, we will to consider adopting them out separately, which we truly prefer not to do. To apply to adopt MOOSE and REMI, fill out an application online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users, please submit application using Google, not Safari. 740-942-4080

Do you remember LILLY and MILLY, 2 sisters dumped on Willis Run Rd in April before coming to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH? Pictured here is LILLY. She was in bad shape when she came in. She was skinny—much skinnier than her sister and her collar was so tight, skin had grown through the buckle. She required surgery to remove the skin and the collar. LILLY is no longer skinny and her neck is completely healed! She’s been in obedience training at the Belmont Correctional Institution in St. Clairsville. LILLY is timid and like her sister, takes a few minutes to warm up to people she doesn’t know, but when she does, she’s a lover. LILLY is fully vetted, crate trained and housebroken, and would love to be a part of a family. She gets along with other dogs. We don’t know about kids or cats, but a meetngreet can be arranged with an approved adopter. Apply online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users must submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080

You might remember MILLY and LILLY, 2 sisters dumped on Willis Run Rd in April. Both were skinny and LILLY’s collar was so tight, it caused the skin to grow thru the buckle. This is MILLY. Her ears stick up, which is the best way to tell her apart from her sister. In this photo, MILLY looks like a puppy, but she’s about 2 years old and weighs around 40 lbs. She’s been in obedience training at the Belmont Correctional Institution in St. Clairsville. MILLY is a shy girl and it takes her a little while to warm up. When she does, her tail comes out from between her legs and she’s a sweetheart. MILLY is good with other dogs, housebroken and crate trained, and fully vetted. We don’t know about kids or cats. A meetngreet can be arranged for you and your family with an approved application. Applications are available online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users must submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080

Today’s WTRF’s Pet of the Week star was JELLY BEAN, a year old Pittie mix who is looking for a new family. JELLY BEAN is energetic, but when she poops out, she poops out and you’ll have to convince her to keep going. She will jump on people when she’s comfortable with them so she’ll need some correction. JELLY BEAN can be timid around new people, but doesn’t take long to warm up. She’s good with other dogs and kids, and has never met a cat. Her dislike for pigs is what caused her former family to surrender her, so if you have them, JELLY BEAN is not the girl for you. SPOT is back at the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH because he proved to be more than his adopters could handle. SPOT is a 3 year old Aussie/Pittie mix with lots of energy-Energizer Bunny energy so he needs a family who can keep up with him. SPOT likes to be on the go; he needs someone who will take him for long walks or short walks if there’s a fenced in yard he can run in. He’s part Aussie, so while he loves to cuddle and snuggle, he needs to be busy. SPOT is crate trained and housebroken, and fully vetted. He’ll complain at first in his crate, but when he realizes his complaining isn’t going to free him, he accepts his fate. SPOT is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. Due to his exuberance, he shouldn’t be in a home with small kids, because he will knock them down. A good strong (personality wise) person who will take the time to train the rough edges is what SPOT needs to be the best dog he can be. He had 2 homes before ending up at the pound who gave up on him so this time, he needs a family who is committed to working with him. To apply to adopt SPOT, fill out an application online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users, please submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080

How pretty is MILLIE? She’s a 2 year old mixed breed (Staffy? Pointer?) who finds herself in the market for a new family. MILLIE was surrendered to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH because she and the other female dog in the home both wanted to be in charge while the male dog couldn’t care less. MILLIE is eager to please, loves people, and is high energy. Lots of walks, playtime and/or a fenced in yard would make this girl very happy. She’s a cuddler and is very generous with kisses. MILLIE lived with older kids. She’s never met a cat. MILLIE is housebroken and knows how to use a doggy door. Apply to adopt MILLIE by filling out an application online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users, please use Google and not Safari to submit your application. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080.
