This Ox Roast is more than a meal—it’s a chance to experience Camp Wakonda, reconnect, and enjoy a relaxed Sunday afternoon together.

Join us THIS Sunday, Sept. 6 from 12–2 p.m. at Camp Wakonda for an open-house style Ox Roast. Come as you are, stay as long as you like, and enjoy good food in a beautiful setting. All donations are appreciated and everyone is invited!
There will be a worship service at Love Circle at 10:30 AM prior to the Ox Roast.

Nearly six decades after that first Ox Roast in 1967, Camp Wakonda still welcomes people of all ages to this cherished event to share food, worship, and time in God’s creation.

Our last day was pretty eventful! We had a record-breaking Creek Run! Last year was 16:21 & this year was a little over 11 minutes. Counselors also created a mini version of the Amazing Race, and the campers were soggy and full of smiles. They had an Outpost experience in 45 minutes, dance class with Emily, canvas painting, making bookmarks, drama class with Lee Lavery, and an ice cream scavenger hunt.
Oh, and by the way... We had a chocolate fountain for lunch!

Day 4 of Choose Your Own Adventure, the campers chose between theater games with Emily, a cooking competition between Spain & Mexico, an Obstacle course, creating a nature flag, ice cream gutter, and elephant toothpaste.

Percy Jackson Capture the Flag! Lots of mythical monsters, crazy challenges, and running through the woods. This game is a Wakonda favorite!

Day 3 of Choose Your Own Adventure! On Wednesday, the campers played Poison Ball, had a bracelet-making class, Pepe taught dances, made Banana boats, created pet rocks, slip & slide hockey, had a drama class with Lee Lavery, and made sweet potato cookies!
