We are happy to announce another Free Little Pantry has been added to our area, thanks to Black Hills Energy!

Black Hills Energy is a dedicated community partner working to uplift the communities they serve in meaningful ways. By pairing a Free Little Pantry with direct, local information about energy assistance programs, the project acknowledges the overlapping needs and helps residents find multiple forms of support.

With 12.9% of households in Nebraska experiencing food insecurity and rural areas facing higher food costs, this pantry will help support our neighbors with resources that can be accessed everyday.

This new pantry is located at the backside of the Schuyler Fire Station at 302 E 16th Street in Schuyler.

Our community is Blessed to have three locations where people in need of food can go 24 hours a day 7 days a week, because nobody should ever go hungry. The newest location is at the fire station and the other locations are at the Head Start and Soak three times laundry mat on B street downtown. If you have extra food or you have extra to share you can place it in any of these locations.

The Colfax County Food pantry is also opened the first and third Wednesdays each month at 5 pm and if there is ever a need for IMMEDIATE assistance you can always contact any officer or deputy they will contact the Pantry directly. Nuestra comunidad tiene la bendición de contar con tres puntos donde las personas que necesitan alimentos pueden acudir las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana, porque nadie debería pasar hambre. La ubicación más reciente se encuentra en la estación de bomberos, y las otras dos están en el centro Head Start y en la lavandería «Soak Three Times» de la calle B, en el centro de la ciudad. Si tiene alimentos de sobra o desea compartir algo, puede dejarlos en cualquiera de estos lugares.

El banco de alimentos del condado de Colfax también abre el primer y el tercer miércoles de cada mes a las 5:00 p. m.; si en algún momento necesita asistencia INMEDIATA, puede comunicarse con cualquier oficial o ayudante del sheriff, quienes contactarán directamente al banco de alimentos.
