A cough that wouldn’t go away turned out to be something no one expected.

After weeks of treatment for a persistent cough, a 3-year-old girl arrived at Saban Children’s Hospital at Soroka, where doctors uncovered the real cause: a tiny earring lodged deep inside her airway.

Thanks to the expertise of Soroka’s multidisciplinary team, the earring was safely removed through a delicate endoscopic procedure, and the little girl made a full recovery.

Stories like this remind us that great medicine is about more than treatment. It’s about asking the right questions and never giving up on finding answers.

What started as an afternoon of playing with friends quickly became a race against time.

Eight-year-old Yosef came home complaining of severe pain before suddenly losing consciousness. Rushed to Soroka Medical Center in critical condition, he was diagnosed with a rare pediatric stroke caused by an AVM (arteriovenous malformation).

Thanks to the rapid actions of Soroka’s neurosurgery team, Yosef underwent emergency lifesaving surgery and is now on the road to recovery.

A true miracle at Soroka. ❤️
