It’s time for some one-on-one play time with Boots!

Boots is a bit shy with his sibs. He’s not as physical and aggressive when he plays, so his sibs tend to push him away during wand toy play time.

We just finished a long session of wand toy and his brothers are worn out…now it’s “Boots time”. 🥰

We’re helping with a new site/colony in Metuchen. At the new site, all of the cats in the core colony were fixed, except for one female who had a litter recently. There is also an intermittent visitor who is untipped.

We trapped three kittens on Sunday, and this morning, we got their mom.

The three kittens went to one of our rescue partners. Mom will be spayed and returned to her colony where there are two colony caretakers who provide shelter and feed them twice a day. 🙏🏻

Many thanks to the two caretakers for covering the costs of the spay surgery for mom and all the initial vetting for the adoptable kittens. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻

Hopefully the other intermittent visitor will start coming on a more regular visit schedule to facilitate trapping.

Caretakers reached out to us from Westfield, asking for TNR support. On 10/22, this cat was trapped by a resident, but they needed help with holding, vetting and recovery.

We took her to People For Animals yesterday for her spay surgery, and will recover her.

We’re also providing input for the design and placement of cat shelters on the property, to help ensure the cats on this property have safe and comfortable place to stay with the winter weather approaching.

Gigi is one of many cats helped by the Seen and Loved Strays team. Even before we formed a formal nonprofit organization, she was brought to Evelyn by a caring truckyard worker and was fostered by Virginia, initially under the CASA rescue. Together, Evelyn and Virginia worked together to help Gigi, and to help many other cats from this same site, forming the seeds of our current partnership. 💫

Mikey was returned to his colony on Monday. Today we saw him during feeding rounds and he looked great!

He was trapped recently to undergo a medical assessment, due to his worsening fur mats and conjunctivitis.

The likely underlying issue causing his fur mats was inadequate grooming due to poor dental/gingival health. He received antibiotics and multiple teeth were extracted.

His fur mats were combed out, he received prophylactic Revolution and was brought up-to-date on his vaccines.

His mouth and skin must be feeling so much better now. 🥰

This is what colony management looks like. Cats need to be monitored, brought in for medical care and kept up-to-date with vaccines as much as is feasible.

Today, the weather was perfect for building a new platform for shelters at one of our colonies, and putting on a coat of paint. Pics to come.

At colony #3 we saw Theo, looking extraordinarily handsome today! 🥰

Like many of the cats we saw, he seemed to be enjoying the beautiful sunny early fall weather. 🌞

Looks like he’s starting to put on his winter coat. 🩶🐾
