The vacuum effect is real!!😵‍💫

Finally, the last of the most recent batch of cats were moved along and out of my garage hold area, making space for us to build shelters as part of our winter prep.

Then, at 10:30 last night…Poof!!! All of a sudden I have three more cats in my garage…

More kittens to rescue😫

Inky is one of 4 surviving kittens from her litter. Well, we rescued her and her siblings, but we didn’t stop there.

We made sure that Inky’s mom (“Hunter”) was trapped, spayed, vaccinated, and returned to her outdoor home.

We subsequently learned from the homeowner that Hunter‘s mom, “Blackie” (Inky’s grandmother) was still alive, coming to feed at their house, and had not been spayed. 😵‍💫

Unfortunately, we only learned about Blackie when the homeowner told us that Blackie had recently been pregnant and delivered her babies. 😫

Well, we were determined to trap and spay Blackie, so we checked in with the homeowners to see if they were seeing the kittens. Weeks had gone by and although Blackie came and went, the kittens were not showing up with her at the feeding station, and Blackie was spending more and more time back at home base. Based on the amount of time since they thought she delivered, the homeowner presumed that her babies died.

So a plan was made to trap Blackie tomorrow morning for spay surgery.

That plan abruptly changed midday today, when Blackie was spotted carrying a kitten, heading towards her feeding station area. Apparently at least one kitten survived, and Blackie was bringing them closer to where she fed, presumably to start weaning them.

This sighting was timely, and we decided to postpone trapping until we had a better handle on the age of the kittens, their health, and their readiness to wean. 

Fortunately, she is obviously lactating based on the picture, so I think if we saw this tomorrow, we would have made the same adjustment in the plan, presuming that she’s still nursing kittens somewhere.

Anyway, we’ll continue to monitor the activity of Blackie and any surviving kittens and when the kittens are ready, will rescue them and then trap Blackie to make sure that this is HER last litter!

Next…where are those males!! 😫

Happy Caturday from Misty!! 😍

Misty is one of our former fosters. She is a friendly 1 year old kitty, rescued along with her four 5-week old kittens from a dangerous outdoor situation.  Her babies are under the care of a kitten rescue and will be ready to be adopted soon! 

Seen and Loved Strays cared for and vetted Misty. Once she was ready for adoption, Sammy's Hope kindly agreed to take her under their wing to provide ongoing care and to facilitate her adoption. 🙏🏻

We visited her today at Sammy’s Hope. She’s looking great and is ready for a loving forever home. 🏠 🥰❤️

Taj is a super sweet and friendly kitty who was found outside in an apartment complex in Edison. Seen and Loved Strays took him in, cared for and vetted him.

Once he was neutered, vaccinated and ready for adoption, Eleventh Hour Rescue kindly agreed to accept him into their rescue to facilitate his adoption.

We visited Taj this past weekend at the EHR PetSmart adoption center in Rockaway. He was his usual sweet and affectionate self. 😻

If you or someone you know is looking for a mellow and affectionate kitty who gives great hugs and loves cuddle time, please visit and meet him. You won't be disappointed. 🥰

Thank you to Danielle at EHR for coordinating my visit with her volunteer team. Also, a big “thank you” to Christine and her husband, the EHR volunteers I met there. They were so kind to me. More importantly, they were wonderful with the kitties, tailoring the care and socialization routines to their specific needs.

Thank you EHR for caring for Taj and for working to find him the perfect home 🙏🏻

Inky is done with her ringworm treatment !! 🎉

She’ll be spayed and have a check-up for her ringworm in 2 weeks. And then she’ll be ready for adoption!

She’s a sweet, playful and affectionate kitten. She would be a wonderful addition to a family…maybe yours?? 😻

Introducing Blinky and Clyde. 😻

The last time you saw them, they were only four or five weeks old, with a long way to go before they were ready to be adopted.

They have blossomed into two little lovable hooligans! 😂

They are approximately 10 weeks old. DM us if you are interested in adopting one or both.
