Over the weekend, members of Sayreville PBA Local 98 took the plunge — the annual Polar Bear Plunge — to raise funds for Special Olympics New Jersey! Together, we raised $3,173 for this great cause.

A huge thank-you goes out to everyone who donated and supported our team. We’d also like to spotlight two amazing local businesses: Dennis and Jane from Bello's Family Restaurant , who sponsored our team, and Gates Flag & Banner Company, Inc. , who provided our new team flag.

Today PBA Local 98 sponsored twenty four
Students and three teachers from the SWMHS Stem Academy and Honors Anatomy course to attend a presentation at Liberty Science Center. These student were able to watch a prerecorded heart transplant while the surgeon and transplant recipient presented on their experiences and offered an interactive Q&A for students. These Students learned about the different fields of study within the medical world and jobs available to them to pursue.

We want to thank the teachers involved for organizing this event. We hope that our small contribution inspires the future leaders in the medical field. And as always we want to thank the community. It’s Through your support of PBA Local 98 and many ventures that helps fund important programs like this.

The brave men and women of The Sayreville PBA Local #98 are gearing up to take the plunge! In just two weeks, on February 28, 2026, our members will be jumping into the frigid Atlantic at the annual Polar Bear Plunge in Seaside Heights, NJ, to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey.

This chilly tradition supports incredible athletes with intellectual disabilities, helping provide year-round sports training, competition, and life-changing opportunities.

First, we would like to thank everyone who attended our Annual Pocketbook Bingo. It was an amazing event with a great turnout, and we truly appreciate everyone who came out to support us.

We would also like to thank everyone who participated in and supported our Mega Raffle—congratulations to all of the winners!

A very special thank you goes to Joanne Gottstine; without her help, this event would not have been possible. Thank you to Joseph Gottstine, Sonny Gottstine, Paul Murphy for all your help. Also, a special thank you to Joe Zaczek for calling bingo for us. We would also like to thank our members Chris Raub for setting up the bingo and George Lestuck Jr. for organizing the Mega Raffle. This system helps you report incidents like:
- Criminal Mischief / Vandalism
- Fraud / ID Theft
- Harassment
- Lost Property
- Property Damage
- Minor Thefts (ie. Borough Trash Cans)
- Traffic Complaints
- Violations of Child Custody Agreements

👮‍♂️ Note: Some reports may still require an officer response depending on the situation.

🎄 Sayreville PBA Local 98 – Annual Christmas Party! 🎄

Tonight we had an incredible turnout at our annual Christmas Party, and we were honored to welcome 32 of our retirees who came out to celebrate with us.

Seeing so many familiar faces—men and women who paved the way for what our department is today—made the night truly special. Thank you for your years of dedicated service and for continuing to be a proud part of the PBA Local 98 family.

This Thanksgiving Eve, we honor the life of Brandon Tyler Narleski—a beloved member of our community whose life was tragically taken at 19 years old because of a drunk driver.
