The Nurse Honor Guard pays tribute to all nurses who have dedicated their lives to the Nursing Profession.

We honor the nurse at the time of their death by performing the Nightingale Tribute and releasing them of their nursing duties at no cost to family.

Yesterday, the Coastal Georgia Nurse Honor Guard had the honor of paying tribute to Dr Mary Klotz Walker,RN, a remarkable nurse whose dedication to the nursing profession spanned more than 50 years.

Mary devoted her life to nursing education, leadership, research, and mentoring future generations of nurses. As a professor, Dean, and Director of numerous nursing programs, she touched countless lives and helped shape the future of nursing. Even after her retirement, her passion for teaching continued, reflecting her lifelong commitment to the profession she loved.

Mary’s legacy extends far beyond her many academic achievements. It lives on in the nurses she taught, the leaders she inspired, and the countless patients and families whose lives were touched by the profession she helped advance.

It was a privilege for our Honor Guard to recognize Mary’s extraordinary life of service and dedication. We are honored to pay tribute to a nurse who gave so much of herself to nursing and to the generations who will carry her legacy forward.

The Coastal Georgia Nurse Honor Guard recently had the honor of paying tribute to Nurse Mary Sue Shaffer, RN. 💙🩵

Sue dedicated her professional life to nursing, bringing compassion, kindness, tenacity, and a genuine desire to help others. Her caring heart reached far beyond her profession, touching the lives of her family, neighbors, animals, and anyone fortunate enough to know her.

Sue’s legacy of compassion and caring will live on in the many lives she touched. It was our privilege to honor her life, her service, and her lasting legacy in nursing.

Rest in peace, Nurse Mary Sue Shaffer. 🕊️

Recently, the Coastal Georgia Nurse Honor Guard paid tribute to Patricia Witt Carrington RN, a remarkable nurse whose life was dedicated to caring for others.

A gifted student, Patricia graduated valedictorian of Roebuck High School and earned her nursing degree from Wofford College with the highest scholastic honors. She began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta.

It was an honor to celebrate her life and recognize her service through a Nightingale Tribute. 💙Nurses Honoring Nurses 💙

Our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. May her legacy of excellence, compassion, and service live on.

Lisa Loadholt, RN and her incredible 43 years of dedicated service at Mary Telfair Women’s Hospital at Candler Hospital.

Lisa, your years of compassion, dedication, and commitment to nursing have touched countless patients, families, and fellow healthcare professionals. What an incredible legacy you have built throughout your nursing career.💙

He has been to almost every service, parade, and meeting plus helped with so much more…..without asking for ANYTHING in return.
He even rode with all of is us to Atlanta when the governor signed our Proclamation.

Yesterday, the Coastal Georgia Nurse Honor Guard was deeply honored to pay tribute to Daniel Russell Manning, RN during his Nightingale Tribute.

Daniel dedicated his life to caring for others, serving his patients with kindness, compassion, and unwavering professionalism at Memorial University Medical Center. His commitment to nursing was recognized with the prestigious Daisy Award, a reflection of the extraordinary care he gave to his patients and their families.

At just 44 years old, Daniel’s passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. We are grateful to have been entrusted with honoring his life, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind.

To Daniel’s family, friends, and colleagues, we extend our deepest sympathy. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate his life and recognize his calling as a nurse.

May his light continue to shine through the countless lives he touched.
