Today marks the anniversary of the opening of the first Ronald McDonald House, and one year since we introduced our modernized brand alongside our Family Stays platform.

Over the last year, Chapters around the world have brought our new brand to life, all while celebrating the families at the heart of our mission.

When a child is ill or injured, family isn’t just there for a visit. They stay for the long haul. Ronald McDonald House makes it stay that way.

Sometimes babies have a way of making a surprise early arrival! 🍼👶 When that happens, families may find themselves welcoming their precious little one before they have had a chance to prepare with the tiny essentials they need.

We’re asking our friends, family, and community to help us provide preemie and newborn clothing for the families we serve. Every tiny outfit can make a big difference during an unexpected and emotional time. 💕

📚 We are also collecting baby books! For families whose little ones may be receiving care in the hospital, holding their baby isn’t always possible. Reading together can create a special connection and give parents a meaningful way to bond with their little one, even when they can’t be together physically.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is a time to honor the children and families whose lives have been changed by cancer and to recognize all that families navigate throughout their treatment.

Cancer treatment can mean long drives, extended stays, countless appointments, and time away from home. Through it all, families should be able to focus on what matters most: caring for their child and being together.

As we recognize this September, we're thinking of the NICU families supported by Ronald McDonald House programs around the world ❤️

Families like baby Grayson's.

Grayson was born early at 33 weeks and needed immediate surgery and specialized care. For nearly a month while Grayson was in the NICU, his parents, Paige and Jordan, stayed just steps away at Ronald McDonald House Louisville

"Being at Ronald McDonald House allowed us to be with Grayson in the NICU as much as possible," Paige says. "It was the biggest blessing to us on our journey."

Jeremy, Jessica, and their three children stayed at Ronald McDonald House Atlanta for over 60 nights while their son participated in a feeding therapy program nearby.

While Harlow and Hadley were in the NICU, the Rardon family found comfort and support at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri. Now, the twins have made it a tradition to give back by volunteering at the House each year, even spending part of their birthday this year packing lunches and preparing a meal for families staying at the House.
