Meet Leadership Savannah's featured Class Member, Sharonda Murrell.
Sharonda is a native of coastal Wilmington, NC. She relocated with her family from metro Atlanta to Savannah in October 2021 to serve the students, families, and communities in Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS), over 36,000 students and 5600 employees. As evidenced by results-driven, value-added, remarkable leadership, she was quickly promoted to assume various roles serving as Associate Superintendent, Secondary Schools, School Support Officer, Senior Officer, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership Development and Director of School Improvement. As a member of the Superintendent’s Extended Cabinet, Sharonda provides exemplary leadership, support, coaching, guidance and supervision to secondary school principals and district leaders, coupled with leading various programs, initiatives, and managing an approximately 1-million-dollar federal literacy grant in support of successful student outcomes. She continues to lead the school district cross-departmental leadership team to achieve Cognia® System Accreditation, which exemplifies high quality education recognized globally. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Raymond, and daughter, Shayla, family, friends, coastal living, traveling abroad, reading, and attending live concerts, theatrical performances, cultural art shows, and exhibits. Sharonda is appreciative of the opportunity to enhance her leadership toolbox, learn and grow alongside other thought leaders in the Leadership Savannah Program.
We are so happy to have her with us this year!
