IT’S HERE!!!🩵📚💦💙
The proof copy of Only Rain Down the Drain arrived today! There are a few color corrections and design tweaks to make before launch, but holding it in my hands for the first time felt pretty surreal. Even better? My dad was here when it arrived, so we got to open it together. The video for y’all came after. ☺️

Only Rain Down the Drain is a creative nonfiction children’s book inspired by the students I’ve had the privilege to teach, the murals and public art we’ve created together, and the conversations we’ve had about water, community, and caring for the world around us.

📚 Pre-orders will remain at $22 through Sunday, June 7. After that, the book will move to its retail price of $24.95. Link also in bio.

Special thanks to Crown Shepherd for editing and to Lee Hawkins and Natacha Karam for their reviews.

A quick glimpse into some of the incredible art created this year by students with at thanks to

This video is only a small sample of the creativity, storytelling, collaboration, and heart these students brought into the space all year long. I’m so proud of the work they created and the ways they showed up for themselves and each other.

Watching students see their ideas come to life through art never gets old.

My original goal was to launch “Only Rain Down the Drain” on June 5, but publishing timelines are doing what publishing timelines do and they get moving, just like rain once it goes down the drain. 💦😂 Now the book will be available by the end of June.

Because I want more classrooms, families, educators, and water peeps to have access to the book, I’m keeping the preorder price at $22 until the official launch later in June. You get a deal and don’t need to do a website update. Wins all around!

WHY this book based on the different hats I wear and how you may know me—

For those working in INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, this book reflects many of the same values that have shaped my global work: accessibility, collaboration, education, and the belief that sustainable change starts with connection and shared responsibility. While this is a children’s book, the heart of it is rooted in larger conversations around equity, infrastructure, environmental justice, and how communities care for shared resources.

For EDUCATORS and SPEAKING venues, the book opens doors to conversations around environmental stewardship, systems thinking, global awareness, and creative problem-solving in ways that are engaging and accessible for young learners. Plus, I have residency opportunities.

For those who have connected with my ARTWORK over the years, this book brings my visual storytelling into a playful, purpose-driven space that connects creativity, community, and environmental action.

For my WATER peeps, this book translates complex environmental concepts into a creative, approachable story that helps the next generation understand why protecting water matters.

At its core, this project is about helping people—especially kids—understand that stormwater, pollution, and environmental care are not abstract systems. They’re connected to our daily choices and shared future.
