Sugar, aka Willie, decided to make foster life interesting. 😹

Early in the morning after Toby and Ina woke me up playing hunger games across my face. Sugar escaped from my bathroom and DISAPPEARED.

We were officially on lockdown.

I tore the house apart looking for her. Meanwhile, Toby the Tabby kept following me around, apparently convinced I was searching for Mia, another foster cat he already knows. He kept showing me where Mia was.

Then around 10:00 last night, Toby finally realized…

WAIT. THERE’S A KITTEN MISSING. 👀

He started yowling for her, found a little spring toy, carried it over by the kitchen, and started playing with it while calling for her.

And then…

Sugar emerged from UNDER THE DISHWASHER. 😂

Apparently I did not need to dismantle my house.

I needed Toby.

Dean & Pepperoni — Introduction!

We’re SO happy to finally bring these two together!

Both Dean and Pepperoni had siblings who were adopted, and both of these little ones crave the companionship of another kitty. We wanted to give them the chance to have a mate of their own—so they don’t have to grow up alone.

Dean has been with his foster a little longer, so look at him showing Pepperoni just how cool, calm and collected he is!

And yes… you’ll notice the bed is flipped up. That’s intentional! We didn’t want Pepperoni hiding underneath it. We want her to be exposed to Dean’s shenanigans, watch him play, and learn that he’s a friendly guy she can trust. In time, we think she’ll grow to absolutely love him.

We’d LOVE to adopt Dean and Pepperoni as a bonded pair.

If you’re looking for a kitten, remember this: kittens do better with another kitten. They learn from each other, play together, comfort each other and have a built-in best friend while you’re away.

🐾 PLEASE SUPPORT HOUSE BILL H.R. 5020! 🐾

We’ve been speaking with a veterinarian at the ASPCA about H.R. 5020 and the potential benefits it could provide. For small rescues like 30A Cats, this bill could make a huge difference!

If passed, 30A Cats could apply for a three-year federal grant to help cover critical expenses such as veterinary care, food, shelter, and even paid volunteer support.

For a small, volunteer-run rescue, funding like this could dramatically increase the number of cats we’re able to help and strengthen the services we provide to our community.

The fact that support like this is being considered is truly encouraging. ❤️🐱

WANT A CUDDLY CAT? START WITH BONDING.

One of the biggest mistakes I see when people bring home a rescued street kitten is giving them the entire house too soon.

Don’t. Start small.

Put your new kitty in a quiet bathroom or small room where they can’t hide. Give them a bed, litter box, food, toys—and most importantly, YOU.

Sit quietly. Talk softly. Read a book. Slow-blink at them. Let them come to you.

Why? Because before they learn to love your house, your other pets or their new freedom, they need to learn that YOU are safe.

Some kittens take days. Older or frightened cats may take weeks.

Don’t rush the process. Trust comes first. ❤️

And when that scared little street cat finally climbs into your lap?

There is no better feeling. You didn’t just save a life—you became their safe place. 🐾

Miss Pepperoni’s journey has come a LONG way! ❤️🍕

If you’ve been following our Boggy Boys Pizza kittens, you know Pepperoni, Chili and Margherita were found outside Boggy Boys Pizza — scared, unsure and just trying to survive.

Chili and Margherita have already found their forever homes, and now it’s Pepperoni’s turn. 🥹🐾

This sweet girl is learning that people can be trusted. She’s coming out of her shell, showing her loving personality and discovering that life can be pretty wonderful when you have someone looking out for you. ❤️

And now comes the fun part…

Pepperoni is going to meet Dean, another 30A kitten who is also waiting for his forever family! 🐾🐾

We think these two could be an amazing match. Sometimes the best thing for a kitten is having another kitten to play with, snuggle with and help them feel safe.

And if they hit it off? TWO FOR ONE! 🎉❤️
We’ll adopt them together as a bonded pair!

We’ll keep sharing Pepperoni and Dean’s story — including videos as they get to know each other and continue their journey toward their happily ever after. 🏡🐱

WHAT A DAY FOR 30A CATS! 🐾

Yesterday’s event at Cara’s Cat Cafe was a HUGE success! Over 50 people came through the cat lounge area, and Cara almost SOLD OUT of food in the cafe!

Even better? So many people who had never visited the cafe before came out to see what all the excitement is about. That’s exactly what community is supposed to look like!

Our ASPCA grant is helping cover the cost of the event, allowing us to get the word out about 30A Cats and introduce even more people to Cara’s amazing cafe. And we definitely got creative about getting attention! 😂

Tami, one of our directors, put on the giant cat head and stood outside waving people in. And guess what? People actually stopped to see what was happening! 🐈‍⬛😂

It was A LOT of work, but seeing the results made every minute worth it. Cara said it was her best turnout since opening weekend—and that’s saying something, especially since our event lasted FIVE HOURS!

And the best part? 💕 We have several people who met some of our kitties yesterday and are now considering adoption!

More people through the door.
More people learning about 30A Cats.
More support for a local small business.
And potentially more kitties finding their forever homes.

That’s a WIN-WIN-WIN! 🐾❤️
