Class of 2026/2027 is heating up! Meet our newest Leadership Walton participant, Addi Cottone! Addi is an Associate with Dunlap & Shipman P.A. in the firm’s Santa Rosa Beach office. She earned her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and is admitted to practice in Florida state courts. Addi joined the firm in 2025 and concentrates her practice on real estate litigation, real property law, debt collection, and community association matters.

This month, we are proud to recognize Sergeant Phillip Kent with the Walton County Sheriff's Office, Florida as our June Ambassador Spotlight!

Our Ambassadors play such an important role in welcoming new members, supporting Chamber events, and helping create meaningful connections throughout Walton County. Sergeant Kent’s dedication to service and community shines through in all he does.

This morning’s Wake Up Walton Breakfast sponsored by Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast-DeFuniak Cardiology was on point! The man of the hour was Mayor Bob Campbell, who delivered a super informative State of the City Address, highlighting DeFuniak’s master plan, the importance of building lasting protocols and procedures, and exciting updates on new housing and commercial development (including a new hotel near the interstate).

And a fun personal note, our CEO and VP both grew up in DeFuniak and have been lifelong Walton County residents, so getting to witness this growth and be part of it feels extra special.

Yesterday, our ladies had the opportunity to take a site tour of Alys Beach, and it was something special. Alys Beach follows a New Urbanism master plan bringing together residential, commercial, mixed-use, and common spaces in such a thoughtful and beautiful way. Every detail is intentional from the amenities and parks to the paths, roadways, gathering spaces, and overall design.

And let us just say… it was beyond gorgeous. The hospitality was phenomenal, the food was exquisite, and the entire experience was such a reminder of how special and unique this community is. It is always such a gift to get out, learn more about the incredible places that make Walton County what it is, and experience firsthand the vision, care, and investment behind them.
