To promote a safe and secure community through professional law enforcement stewardship, education, engagement, and partnership. Founded in 1948, the Santa Ana Police Officers Association (SAPOA) has evolved from a social gathering space into a full-service labor association dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of over 500 members. Originally established as the Santa Ana Police Benevolent Association, our mission has grown to negotiate wages, benefits, and work conditions, ensuring a positive impact on our members' professional lives. SAPOA remains deeply committed to the community of Santa Ana, hosting social and charitable events such as our annual golf tournament and variety show, supporting our Widows and Orphans fund. As part of our community commitment, we provide annual scholarships to local students facing economic hardships and sponsor numerous local programs promoting safety and public welfare. Our affiliations include the California Coalition of Law Enforcement (C.C.L.E.A.), Southern California Alliance of Law Enforcement (S.C.A.L.E.), and the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation (C.P.O.M.F.), among others. SAPOA continues to be a beacon for law enforcement professionals and a pillar in the Santa Ana community.

Tomorrow is the big night! Our very own Commander Frankie G will be competing on Dancing With the Santa Ana Stars and helping him raise money for the Santa Ana Police Officers Association, Widows and Orphans Fund. It’s not too late to get your ticket. We hope to see you there.

Today marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation and the world.

We honor the Police and Firefighters who gave their lives that day so that others could live. We must never forget their courage and sacrifice. We remember all those who lost their lives that day and those who stepped up to fight those who committed these acts of evil.

Twenty-five years later, our great nation endures and we are stronger than ever. God Bless the USA. 🇺🇸

The Orange County Labor Federation held their annual Labor Day Picnic at George Upton All Access Park. Our community engagement team and recruitment team were there representing and connecting with our brothers and sisters in Labor. We were also joined by our amazing Mayor Valerie Amezcua and our allies on the Santa Ana City Council as well as Congressman Lou Correa, who has been a supporter of ours for many years. Looking forward to next year.

Assemblyman Tri Ta represents all of West Santa Ana in the state assembly and has been very supportive of the men and women of the Santa Ana Police Department. Also joining us were Assembly Republican leader Assemblywoman Alexandra Macedo and the LA/OC Building Trades. Thank you Assemblymember for your support.

We are happy to announce that AB 1383, the PEPRA reform bill has passed the California State Legislature with bipartisan support. Thank you to our state representatives, Senator Tom Umberg Assemblymember Avelino Valencia and Assemblyman Tri Ta for voting for this. A special thank you to California Fraternal Order of Police, International Association of Fire Fighters AOCDS SEBA and Orange County Firefighters just to name a few for your hard work to get this done. It is now onto Governor Newsom‘s desk for his signature. Now is the time to make your voice heard. Call his office at (916) 445-2841 and let him know you want him to sign this into law.

Mayor Valerie Amezcua held her third annual resource fair and backpack giveaway at the Santa Ana Elks Lodge. We joined many other community organizations, healthcare clinics, and nonprofits, giving resources to the community given away school supplies for the new year and even Barbers giving haircut for back to school.

Today we represented at Mayor Valerie Amezcua’s State of the City address. We got to hear from the Mayor, City Manager Nunez and Chief Rodriguez on all the great things they are doing for the City of Santa Ana. We truly appreciate all the work. The mayor is doing and look forward to her re-election.

Tonight Santa Ana Police Department held their Annual National Night Out. Many of our members were present to show the community what our department has to offer, including our motor officers., SWAT team, community engagement team, Crime Scene Investigators, Dispatchers but the biggest hit was the K-9’s who enjoyed all the attention.
