Big news for our youth! We’re grateful to the Taco Bell Foundation for a $15,000 Community Grant supporting Project Self, our college and career access program.

This support will help young people explore career pathways, build skills, and access opportunities that can shape what comes next.

And to everyone who Rounds Up at their local Taco Bell restaurant, thank you! Your change helps create opportunities for young people right here in our community.

🏛️ A day full of learning, inspiration, and new possibilities!

Our Project Self interns had the opportunity to visit the Orange County Superior Court and Court of Appeal, hear from incredible judicial leaders, and experience the justice system firsthand. A special thank you to Presiding Judge Hon. Sheila F. Hanson, Assistant Presiding Judge Hon. Terri K. Flynn-Peister, and Presiding Justice Joanne Motoike for investing in our youth and inspiring them to dream big. We’re so grateful for partners who make experiences like this possible! 🩵

That perfectly describes our very own Silvestre Lopez “Silver”!

As Manager of Youth Development Programs, Silver leads Project Youth OC’s Shortstop and Project Self programs, creating pathways that help young people discover what’s possible for their futures.

More than anything, Silver leads with heart. His energy and passion are contagious, and his belief in every young person inspires those around him. A proud UC Irvine alumnus, Silver earned his B.A. in Criminology and recently completed his Master’s in Legal and Forensic Psychology, bringing both knowledge and compassion to the work he does every day.

This recognition couldn’t be more fitting. Congratulations, Silver!

“Oftentimes, the Anaheim Police Department encounters family and school-related incidents involving juvenile delinquent behaviors that don’t rise to the level of a crime. Anaheim officers are placed in a challenging situation in which a brief counseling session at the time do not have long-lasting positive outcomes for the families. As a result, the Anaheim Police Department looks for collaborative partnerships to aid our community families in their struggles to direct their children and teens onto a positive path. For the last several years, the Anaheim PD has relied on Shortstop as a strong community-based partner in resolving these matters through an effective long-term program. Anaheim’s community and schools have significantly benefited from Shortstop’s mentoring program, thereby reducing delinquent behaviors and enhancing positive opportunities for our youth.” -Sgt. Sometimes, the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones. 🩵🤍🖤

Our Familias Fuertes “Lotería Night” gave families the chance to step away from the busyness of life, laugh together, and simply enjoy each other’s company. While many families come to our workshops to learn, grow, and navigate life’s challenges, it was special to spend an evening focused on connection (with one another and with their children) through a game that generations know and love.

At the heart of our Family Enrichment Program is the meaning behind the name Familias Fuertes: helping families build stronger relationships, healthier communication, and a foundation that supports them through every stage of life.

We are so proud to be a part of their journey and to be able to facilitate moments like these!

Our biggest Brewfest yet-$60,000 raised! 📣🎉

While our goal was to raise funds to support our youth and families during critical points in their lives, one of the best parts of the evening was seeing our community come together.

We are incredibly grateful to every person who attended, donated, sponsored, shared our event, or supported PYOC in any way. Thank you for making this night possible!

A very special shoutout to our Associate Board for leading the charge. Their thoughtful planning, energy, and commitment—under the leadership of Associate Board President Edwin Hong—helped make this event such a success.
