Bee Swarm Education Night- May 12 • 6:30 PM
Historic Muir/Poulsen Orchard Outdoor Classroom

The Dimple Dell Preservation Community has invited the Wasatch Bee Keepers Association for a special community education evening about bee swarms and pollinator awareness.

Presenters Jen Hien and Jenny Denarzio — who regularly teach educational programs for local elementary students — will share information about why bees swarm, what to do if you encounter a swarm, and why bees are so important to our ecosystem.

Come enjoy a spring evening outdoors while learning more about these important pollinators.

Did you know? Bees commonly swarm in May when they outgrow their hive or lose their queen.

We need to make a valve box with an unusual shape and depth. We would appreciate a donation of a large sturdy bucket with a lid. The photos suggest what would be helpful.

Thank you so much to all of the families that came out yesterday to help plant trees, create wood chip berms, and dig out a new pollinator bed! We were able to accomplish an incredible amount in the orchard at the historic Muir-Poulsen home. Also a big shout out to the Park Lane Elementary School families that came out in support, even as they fight to keep their school open. Go Panthers! We wish you luck!

Earth Day Cleanup starts at 8:30 AM at the Dimple Dell Horse Parking Lot & Trailhead (2765 E. Dimple Dell Rd).

Please bring gloves and any tools you have- shovels are especially helpful.

Wrangler trailhead sounds simple, but it holds a LOT of trail! We were so fortunate to have Park Lane Elementary take a field trip out there recently, and they saw firsthand what it can take to keep a park clean and safe from erosion!

Want to do your part? Join us Saturday, April 25 from 8:30am to noon, at Wrangler trailhead, or at three other locations throughout the park. Come help make a difference in keeping our 630 acre Park beautiful!

We are so glad we got pictures of our blossoms before that last frost. We likely won’t have a fruit harvest this year, but we are hopeful our pumpkin patch will be a hit this October!

Come be part of the spring planting, Saturday April 25th, 8:30am - noon.

Orchard location is: 2940 E Mt Jordan Rd (NOT the location listed on the event!!) Bring gloves and wear sturdy shoes (and maybe a hand shovel if you have one 😉). We will be preparing our new pumpkin patch INSIDE THE FENCE so we will need everyone to be sure they sign the SL county waiver. We will also be planting 9 trees and building berms around 60 existing trees.

Don’t live near the Muir-Poulsen site? No problem! There will be 3 other locations to volunteer at for our 10th annual Earth Day cleanup! Check our event for more details.
