WHY WE RIDE

A great night tonight at the annual Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center Scholarship and Award Recognition Night.

It was wonderful to see so many friends gathered together, all connected in one way or another through service to our veterans and helping those in need.

We were especially proud to see two of our own recognized. Matthew Levesque, one of our outstanding leaders and volunteers, received well deserved recognition for his dedication and service. Brien Hines, another valued volunteer and friend, was also honored for the difference he makes in the lives of others.

It was also special to see so many familiar faces from Director Jim Seymour’s outstanding team, including Laura Sears and Barbara Foley, longtime friends and supporters of the Big Nick Ride. Their commitment to veterans and the community reflects the very best of what this organization stands for.

Congratulations to all of the award recipients. The room was filled with remarkable people, many of whom are our friends, volunteers, partners, and supporters. What connects them all is something simple but powerful: huge hearts and a commitment to helping others.

Faith, family, friends, flag, freedom, forever.

WHY WE RIDE
Another amazing planning meeting last night at Yarmouth Police Headquarters as we continue preparations for Big Nick’s Ride XVII.

The room was filled with dedicated volunteers, veterans, riders, and supporters who all share the same mission:

Faith
Family
Friends
Flag
Freedom
Forever

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared ideas, and volunteered their time. Special thanks to the men and women of the Yarmouth Police Department for hosting us once again and for their continued support of this important event.

A special BNR shout out to retired Yarmouth firefighter Keith Selens for his 31 years of service and his steadfast support of Big Nick’s Ride. We were proud to present him with a Massachusetts House of Representatives Citation recognizing his service, dedication, and commitment to our community.

Big Nick’s Ride has grown into the largest memorial motorcycle ride on Cape Cod and the Islands. We love our great nation and proudly support the men, women, and families who serve and defend it.

The work is underway. The excitement is building. The dream continues.

WHY WE RIDE
HONORING OUR FALLEN AT MASSACHUSETTS NATIONAL CEMETERY

As we close Military Appreciation Month 2026, this video created by Erik, one of the dedicated veterans serving at Massachusetts National Cemetery, is a powerful reminder of what sacred ground truly looks like.

Located in Bourne on Cape Cod, this is the only National Cemetery in New England. Over 750 acres. More than 88,000 men and women who answered the call and served our country with honor now rest here.

This video is a moment to reflect. To remember. To be grateful. Every flag, every headstone, every row tells a story of sacrifice that must never be forgotten.

Faith. Family. Friends. Flag. Freedom. Forever

We love our great country and all those who gave everything to protect it.

WHY WE RIDE

From all of us at Big Nick’s Ride, thank you to everyone who came together today to respectfully retrieve 88,000 American flags from the graves of our fallen heroes at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

For 15 years, volunteers have returned year after year to honor those who served and sacrificed. This incredible tradition was founded by Paul Monti, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire thousands. Today, Paul rests alongside his son, Jared C. Monti, at the very cemetery where this mission continues.
