Eagle Watch Weekend is almost here! Join us Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 24–25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center, Illinois Waterway Visitor Center, Starved Rock Lodge, and Utica Village Hall.

This two‑day celebration features live bird‑of‑prey presentations, hands‑on educational stations, and activities for all ages. It’s one of the most popular annual events in the area, and a perfect way to experience the winter beauty of the Illinois River Valley.

Congratulations to all the scouts and adult leaders who completed their Ordeal this last weekend and became members of the Order of the Arrow. I would like to recognize Jace Wisniewski, and James LeaTrea from troop 45 for completing their ordeal. Congratulations to the newly minted Arrowmen.

Today started Sandwich BSA Troop 45's Annual Christmas tree / wreath sales. Come on by the Tree lot and help support scouting. Sales start at 10:00 am Sat. and Sun. untill 7:00 pm.. Weekdays sales are from 4:00 pm. to 7:00 pm..

To the A10 pilots who did fly overs at the Owasippe Scout Reservation last week "Thank You". Tuesday and Thursday right at lunchtime a pair of A10s flew back and forth over our dining hall. The Scouts loved it. (The gif is just for attention.) I couldn't get my phone out fast enough to gret pictures. I don't know where your out of or where you were going but you made several of those Scouts week at camp just that much more memorable.

Camp Owasippe county fair. Scouts had a great time. Gaga ball, sack race, musical chairs, tons of games, and events.
