24 people got their 2026 Open Roads ABATE Summer Books stamped at Farm Friends in Big Rock on Sunday, June 14. Farm Friends will be stamping books on Sunday, July 12, and Sunday, August 9 from 11 am to 3 pm.

It is with heavy hearts that ABATE of Illinois shares the passing of Bob “Mouse” Ellinger, who passed away this morning.

Mouse was a true icon within ABATE of Illinois, serving as a former State Coordinator and currently as our Parliamentarian. For decades, he dedicated countless hours to protecting and advancing the rights of motorcyclists across Illinois. His leadership, knowledge, passion, and unwavering commitment to our organization helped shape ABATE into what it is today. Mouse was more than a leader. He was a mentor, a friend, and a tireless advocate for the motorcycle community.

At this time, there are no plans for services or a celebration of life. Should that change, information will be shared with the ABATE family.

Please keep Mouse’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Mouse. Thank you for your years of service, dedication, and friendship. Ride on in the sky brother.

Open Roads ABATE Rides with Starved Rock ABATE
Members from Open Roads ABATE participated in “Respect the Ride” hosted by Starved Rock ABATE. It was a great ride despite the rain. Riders stopped at Psycho Silo, From the Ashes, Grandma’s Bar & Grill, Aces & Eights, VFW Post #2470, and Jamie’s Outpost.
